Burt pretty much admits his fandom for Duke, would give Bobby Knight a hummer
Yesterday evening, I went out to the headquarters and spent some quality time with Burt and his offspring. It was the usual affair. We drank some beer, watched some BCS important football, and his kids went completely ape-shit and showed the beaked one no respect at all.
But, after the kids had worn out their welcome, and Burt sent them to bed,(where the hell raising continued), we got down to adult conversation. That conversation was that Burt, basically, stated that he thought we were nuts, and that we all suffered from Oliver Stone-type conspiracy theories in regards to our feelings towards ESPN and the national media , in how they treated Kentucky.
Burt said that he didn't see any shred of proof about what we knew to be true.
I was disgusted.
Burt also said that , more or less, we needed to get a hold of ourselves and that no trashing of UK was going on. He didn't see any of the notorious pot shots that are taken at us. Burt would also go on to say that Duke had a larger fanbase than that of Kentucky.
basically, Burt called us out and spit in our souls.
But, was he right?
