These past 10 days are exactly what Fantasy Championship Baseball is all about. The two 64/60 powerhouses for the 2011 campaign have battled toe to toe throwing punch after punch trying to deliver that knockout blow. By the time this is posted the matchup will be in it's final day and if the previous nine days are any indication this matchup will be decided by the thinest of margins and will go down as the closest contested Championship Game in the brief history of the 64/60. Sure we have had Championships in the past decided via tiebreaker however the contest themselves werent all that close on a per stat basis. Over the course of the first 8 days the only stats that can be marked as victories are QS for the Stars and K/9 for the Factory. To be honest I wasn't sure how McClung would handle the big stage. I felt the spotlight at times would be to much first time in the signature event facing the face of the league. It wouldn't be the first time. Anyone recall GRC3 meltdown last season? No such meltdown from McClung who's steady hand and unwavered focus have him within arms reach of that coveted first 64/60 Championship. Will it be a new chapter in the 64/60 or will the "Biggest Homo In The Game", get his third title and the 64/60's first ever back-to-back title.
Status Update: Before Mike Napoli's two HR night this contest was already in the bag. The Bear Creek FP Factory once again reigns supreme in the 64/60. Congratulations to Josh Coleman for another 64/60 title.
FOOTBALL WEEK 3
2-0-1 is the best we got? I cannot recall a season that after three weeks not a sole had a unblemished record. With the added roster spots and two QB setup it's looking like the 64/60 will be a very balanced league from a competition standpoint than in years past. Seven of twelve teams have winning records and only two squads are void of a win. Once this season gets going I still feel a couple of teams may seperate themselves from the pack but who those teams will be is beyond me. The two highest point totals belong to the McClung clan yet the senior is 1-2 on the year and the Junior's total has been built by 400+yards each week by Cam Newton so sign me off that bandwagon. Busy Beavers are 2-0-1 yet have failed to crack 450 points on the year and are second to last in points. You could easily make a arguement for five other teams as being contenders to break from the pack. What is for certain in my mind is GRC3 and the Fightin Amish are in for long miserable seasons and for varying reasons. The Amish go for Gold fourth round selection in Manning has left him with Collins and a the "Breakable" Michael Vick at QB. And GRC3 simply doesn't have the focus to contend. From the early departure on draft night to starting the injured and out Miles Austin. If it's Week 3 and your ignoring basic injury reports what's it going to look like in Week 10?
Game Recap
BCFP 165 vs. Three Penis Wine 156. Even in the midst of a heated Baseball Championship game the Factory showed enough poise and focus to mount a comeback against the boozing Wino's. My thanks to the six offensive players for the Wino's who produced less than 5 pts. each a win would not have been without you.
Chump Slayers 180 vs. Seneca Wallace 163. I say this with the uptmost confidence Tony Romo's performance on Monday Night was easily the greatest 6 point output from a fantasy player ever.
Marshall Maniac 189 vs. Barboursville Stars 186. All around a tough week for the Senior McClung who came up short during the baseball showcase and was defeated by his own flesh and blood in football. Is there another team within the 64/60 that has been more fortunate than the Maniac's? Cam Newton back to back 20+ point games and a 50 spot from Wes Welker. The Maniac's will soon find out winning isn't that easy within the 64/60 just ask his father.
12th Round Kicker 185 vs. BC Fightin Amish 158. Raise your hand if you like to see Chris defeated. Raise your hand if you enjoy the potential pain a terrible season will cause him. Don't feel bad I have no doubt others are getting as much pleasure or more than you. Curtis Painter says it all.
The TRB's 152 vs. SOJM 149. A win is a win I suppose but does a three point edge while scoring just over 150 deserve a blog post as well as future bulletin board material? Regardless the TRB's were happy about the big win and the 2-1 record on the year. On the blog big EV used the ever popular "They are who we thought they were....." sound bite celebrating the win over Jim Mora's Sons. HOWEVER this quote was made popular by Dennis Green and not Jim Mora. Mora is better known for his classic....PLAYOFFs. Playoffs. Your Talking about playoffs"... please note for future reference.
Busy Beavers 146 vs. Argumentative 9irons 131. Last years absenti owner faces this years version and walks away with the ugly win and the only team without a loss on the year. The Beavers have used technology in their favor this year installing a App on their mobil phone device to help monitor their teams roster. GRC3 is taking a different approach this season and seems rather content on battling the Amish for last place honors.
Head Scratcher Of The Week
TRB's Torrey Smith WR Ravens. Wow 80 dollars of FAAB money for a slot WR in a Running Offense. It's Week 4 of a 16 Week NFL season and ever FA is placed on Waivers each week it seems to me another injury will open up a viable fantasy option at some point therefore what's the need to nab a WR with no track record outside of one Week in the NFL? Don't know but I'm thinking the next highest bid was below the 7 dollars spent on Brian Hartline.
Pickup Of the Week
Tim Tebow BC Fightin Amish. Is Tebow a viable fantasy play? NO. Do you get points for third string players who see only spot duty in various gimmick formations? Perhaps Limited. What you do get from Tim Tebow is the approval of one Jesus Christ and his Dad and that my friend is the only way this group of misfits and broken toys will compete week to week this season.

Well Lookie here we have someone about to overdose on the HATErade. I think that Todd blowing his wad on Thomas Jones and James's 50 dollar pickup of Cadillac Williams (after he had dropped him) is much worse than ours. And what about the maniacs going 85$ on Freddie Davis? Its ok though I expect this of you seeings how you have arguably one of the worst teams in this league and I however dont know jack shit about Pro Football except for the big named players and I would bet anything THE TRB's will finish wayyyyyy ahead you your team.
THE FACTORY SUCKS!!!!
Correction 70$ on Cad Williams
As co-owner of The Franchise now gloriously known as The Thomas R. Browns, I must say that I am sickened by your attempt at humor and blindly attacking our organization, when in truth, far more teams in this loose affiliate program you call a league, have mis-managed both their rosters and fantasy finances, yet they go unmentioned. What is this personal vendetta you have against our organization?
And... What the fuck are we going to do with Fantasy Dollars anyways? Get out of a homework assignment or a hall pass for a week?
How was our pickup of Victor Cruz and his 26 points last week before game time not the pickup up the week? Same thing with Laurent Robinson this week.
dont sleep on thomas jones just yet.
as the weather gets colder, he will start warming up.
