He Loves LA, and not using condoms.

Magic Johnson joins Mark Cuban as notable NBA personalities within the last few years who have had their names associated with MLB and purchasing a franchise.
MLB screwed its self and Chicago fans when Mark Cuban's interest in buying the worst franchise in the history of up-right walking man was met with frowns and plugged ears. Now, The Magic one himself has been linked to a list of potential new owners for one of the game's most storied franchises, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, as a business man and one who seemingly is devoted to LA and truly loves the city, Magic could be good for the franchise and for MLB. He is also pushing heavily for an NFL team to return to the City of Angels. Now on the NFL note, my view is that they had multiple past opportunities to keep a team. They failed every time. Maybe there is just too much to do in LA. And, just because it is LA, does mean they are more deserving to have a franchise than any other city. That being said, LA will have a new NFL team within 3 years.
Also, I have seen reports that some are even calling for the Dodgers to return to Brooklyn. Really? They moved once. That's all they need. New York regained National League status a long time ago with the Mets. The void was filled, and quite frankly, I like the Dodgers being the LA Dodgers, I don't want to revisit the past in this instance. Besides, baseball wouldn't be baseball without the Dodgers in LA and the Giants in San Fran. California baseball was an experiment that worked. It took LA and San Fran out of Spring Training sites and out of Triple A ball and put them in the Big Show, where they deserve to be. Besides, I don't know if there is any room left nowadays in NYC for another team to compete with the Yanks and Mets fanbases. But who knows? They did give DC Major League status again and plopped them down in the middle of Oriole territory.
But, it's not gonna happen. It's a pipe dream for anybody who would want to see it happen.
