The dust has settled and the smoke has cleared after 13 weeks of Head-To-Head action the hope of a 64/60 title is still alive for six teams. As has been stated over the last few weeks their wasn't much in question heading into the final week. Tree Fiddy had made a hell of a comeback after a slow start and found himself in playoff contention in the final week. The Fiddy extended pep talks to all parties involved on the road to the playoffs however it was his own squads failure to close the deal which shut the door on the 2010 season. I know what this means to Fiddy ownership and my heart goes out to you. I hope one of your 25 teams are still alive so you can feel playoff football. I know your not ready to crack open the baseball handbook just yet. Outside of the Fiddy's pursuit Week 13 simply placed teams in their playoff seed. The 12th Round Kickers who were the lone team assured of a playoff spot heading into week 13 became fat and happy during Week 13 and his lack of focus in combination with the giant-killing FV Slobber Knockers, cost the Kickers the Number 1 seed. Even so the Kickers still earned the 2 seed which gives him the all important bye week. So Hobson sit back this Sunday, fire up a Lefty and wait to see who you face in Week 15. The Bounty Hunters who have been the benefactors of a MVP caliber season from Michael Vick, have come from a middle of the pack low scoring unit to now being winners of 4 of 5 and averaging 132 points per contest. The Hunters certainly appear to have hit their stride at just the right time. The BC Amish earned the three seed with a 82-71 defensive battle over Jess's Jiu Jitsuers who have lost two in a row heading into the playoffs. The Jitsuers have been ravaged by injuries in recent weeks and are the poster child for the term Backing Into The Playoffs. The Jitsuers will take on steelerdomination who easily handled the 9irons to clinch the 5th seed much to the dismay of owners everywhere. Every league has that team the overcomes absent ownership from draft day until the end of the season yet still manages to clinch a playoff spot because of a really good team and a fair amount of luck along the way. If it's any consolation Fiddy you belong in this spot. Finally the BCFP look to complete the 64/60 Slam by winning both the Baseball and Football Titles in the same year. The Factory was the benefactor in the scoring tiebreaker as those pesky Stars handed the Factory a loss which dropped them into a tie with Fiddy. The Factory will once again have a Head-To-Head showdown with the Bopp in the playoffs. Can the Bopp reverse the recent playoff trend or will the Factory once again leave Christopher crying in the pillow once again?
We Say Goodbye
Tree Fiddy- Hell of a fight that just came up short. You have proved yourself a worthy 64/60 owner this season and I know my decision to lift your lifetime ban was the right move.
FV Slobber Knockers- Didn't put of much off a fight during Weeks 1-9 but became a giant killer down the stretch winning 4 in a row and 3 or which were against playoff teams.
Bo's Bad Asses- Despite a very bad season for a solid Football mind, Hardy kept fighting until the bell rang. The heart of a champion never rest.
Barboursville Stars- In a lost season the win over the Factory was a brief taste of sweetness. Baseball starts in about 4 mos. Mike it's time to start the research.
Argumentative 9irons- Yes GRC3 the miserable season is over and now roster adjustments are needed from this day forward.
Chocktaw Shock-N-aww- Debut season for Gilberto suggest additional time may need tpo be spent at the drawing board next preseason.
Playoff Teams Strengths and Weakness
1. Bounty Hunters- Great QB play and in a WR friendly scoring league the Hunters are loaded. RB position is void of a must start so success depends on a mix and match approach which can be risky.
2. 12th Round Kickers- Top heavy talent with Hillis, Manning, and Jennings. Lack of depth doesn't often make up for off day by the big three.
3. BC Fightin Amish- RB duo could be the league's best as well as his current crop of TE. Hot and cold production from QB and 2nd and 3rd WR options.
4. Jitsuers- Rivers and the WR corp have lead this team all season. Injuries have ravaged this unit and scoring could be a issue.
5. steelerdomination- White and Brees are elite level performers while RB duo is very solid. Inconsistent play from 2nd and 3rd WR and no production from FLEX position.
6. BCFP Factory- Elite level production from Peterson and Bowe and good depth at the WR position. No production from QB position or 2nd RB.
ABBOTT TROPHY
It's a two man race for the most desired piece of wood with a toy on top. The Abbott Trophy represents the 64/60 Owner of the Year and as many my suspect the award comes down to Christopher Lee, owner and operator of BC Dingers and BC Fightin Amish and Josh Coleman, owner of the BCFP. The Factory had the edge in baseball earning 31 points in comparison to Christophers 27. On the Football side Lee has the advantage 27 to 23 at this point. If either of these teams wins the Football Title than in addition to a Championship they will have earned the Abbott Trophy. If both teams should fail in their pursuit to add to the trophy case than the Abbott Trophy winner will be voted upon by members of the 64/60 who participated in both leagues.
