The Good ol' Days....

Say what you want, but hands down, the area school which has had more basketball talent come through it's doors(and perhaps out of it's pockets) has been Rose Hill Christian Academy...

Mayo, Dawson, Jackson, Walker, Hall, Euton, another Jackson, and some of the talent who went on to college careers that have called, at one time or another, the basketball program 'home' is astounding for any school in the 16th... Stack up the talent from any era from any school, and you are going to be hard pressed to match it with the alumni of the Baptist church, and keep in mind the majority of these alumni were only there for 3 seasons, or less...it is quite a feat for the former whipping boy school...

And, I just think it is cool that the best to ever play Basketball in this area (16th), are from neither Ashland-Blazer or Boyd County.... But, let us not forget Frank Lee...

And in this area, as is in a lot of areas, there is always the case to be made for athletes who, for one reason or another, didn't suit up... And I agree with that, and have seen first hand people who didn't finish or even start their scholastic career that would embarass the so-called 'stars' of each of these programs..but OJ and company are excluded from that... I will never say that I witnessed anyone who was as good or better than OJ Mayo from this area... Don't even get me started on Bill Walker, who I think was BETTER than OJ...
