Ring it once more, Starkville..

Nick Bell, Defensive End for the very MSU team that beat the Cats on Saturday has died after his bout with cancer. Bell, who has undergone treatment after he had complained of severe head pain during a practice, had a procedure done on October the 1st to remove a mass from his brain, however, the cancer had already spread to the rest of his body at a very aggressive rate,( The diagnosis had just came in September) so he was rushed in for an emergency procedure this past Monday, and succumbed to cancer on Tuesday, November the 2nd, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital.
He had returned to visit teammates and was on the sidelines for their win over, ironically, UAB. Things were looking up, and they were very positive of a healthy recovery. However, the positive turned to bleak, as after the October 23rd visit, his conditioned worsened calling for the rush to the hospital on Monday.
In a true blessing for his teammates, they will have the time they need for closure and understanding of their friends death, after all, they are kids, and death is never something that you can truly grasp and accept, and certainly not one you can properly deal with when you are at a stage in life when your mortality and your peers, is pushed behind feelings of youthful immortality. The time will come during an off-week this week, the Bulldogs do not return to action until the 13th, against Alabama.
The Bulldogs are bowl bound this season @ 7-2 overall, and 3-2 in conference, both loses against SEC foes. Currently sitting at 20 in the Polls, and 21 in the BCS Rankings.
