In-N-Out The Swing and Swim and Other 64/60 Events
It was an historical weekend for the 64/60. This weekend marked the first 64/60 Swing and Swim Extraviganza along with the Season Opener of the 64/60 Cornhole Circuit. The weather was perfect, high 90's temp and nothing but sunshine. The turnout was as expected. Gilbert and Butch represented the 41129 and arrived in style. Both sported nostalgic Beer T's as Gilbert went Old Style and Butch sported the Schlitz. Always a classic look regardless of the venue. As if the T-Shirts didn't scream here's the party Gilbert had a Cooler on wheels and a adjustable handle much like travel luggage. James and the Family came in full force with both children in the fold. Chris arrived in typical Tiny Bopper Fashion sporting a RIP Corey Haim T which screams douchebag. As always the little Em was at the side of the Iceman wondering what in the hell has she got herself into. Multiple 30 year olds gathering for a wiffle ball game isn't exactly Club Rehab at the Hard Rock or wherever that club is located. Big Todd came in from the Head with former 64/60er Barker in tow. Todd arrived in typical basketball shorts and a T while Barker had the California Stoner look sporting the frayed jeans with the Plain White Shirt. The drink of choice for the evening was Coors Light and as always both were looking to save some money so they punted the Cooler and Ice and drank straight from the 18pk at room temp, circa senior year in high school. As is with every 64/60 sponsored event Rich Coleman made an appearance. GRC arrived late and left early but as always he was filled with great ideas, wise cracks, and a great wisdom that us 30 somethings have yet to obtain. In a special guest appearence Steven Maynard and his better half made a rare appearence. Maynard is a co-worker of Mr. Lee's and a good friend of the Whitley/Barker duo and has spent many of nights shooting pool and telling lies down in the pool room all those years ago.
As I had promised in the video the game would cause sweat, blood, cheating and rule changes and for the most part the game went to script. It took less than two innings to adjust a 3 Fouls is a out rule. The game was played at Hell And Flimstone Field. In honor of their early season fantasy success Rich Coleman and Chris Lee were chose as Captains. In typical 64/60 fashion the draft went in a "snakestlye" order with the first pick going to the 9irons, Josh Coleman was the choice for the record. The 9irons consisted of Rich Coleman, Josh Coleman, Todd Whitley, Johnathan Barker and Rich's son Chris. The Dingers consisted of Chris Lee, Josh Gilbert, Butch Lemaster, James Hardy and Steven Maynard. The 9irons got off to a solid start and held a 4-0 lead getting 2 off Chris Lee and 2 off the once promising left-hander Butch Lemaster, who admittedly couldn't handle the pressure of the event after giving up 3 straight hits to 3 batters before handing the ball over to Steven Maynard. After allowing one of the inheritted runners to score Maynard settled in and didn't allow another run over the next 5 innings. The 9irons ran into trouble in the 3rd giving up 2 runs by throwing the ball around like a bunch of 8 year olds. The momentum changed in the 4th when Christopher Lee voluntarily set and little Em was inserted into the lineup. Em was the spark the Dingers needed. The Dingers took the lead in the 5th thanks to some timely hitting and once again some poor defense by the 9irons. The Dingers added a insurance run in the 6th as the junior Coleman dropped a line drive off the bat of the Corona Queen that should have been caught. In the bottom of the 7th Todd Whitley lead off with a double and Barker followed it up with a hit. However some bad base running lead to Todd attempting to sneak out a run and was out at home and Barker trying to hustle out a triple given all the action at the plate was pegged out going to third. What started out as a promising start to the inning was basically the dagger to the heart. Chris tried to generate a rally and singled but Josh Coleman grounded into a Fielders Choice to end the game. A 6-4 Dingers win that featured Steven Maynard as the MVP.
For the Night Cap we had some delicous Hot Dogs from the 64/60 grill and played some cornhole at the Corporate Headquarters. The Cow Town combo of Gilbert/Lemaster handled the White Russians of Coleman/Lee. THough the match does have a appeal pending but no word yet on the ruling. In match two Gilbert/Lemaster easily disposed of the all girls duo of Coleman/Emily. In match number three the dealdly duo of former RWA Superstars Whitley/Barker easily handled the Gilbert/Lemaster duo. In Match Four. Whitley/Barker scored 150 points or so but continued to bust leading Barker to throw the game in the 2nd hour of the matchup which lead to a victory for the Hardy/Lee Combo. This marathon contest lead to a new 64/60 rule which states that the winner is the highest score once a team has reached over 21 points. On talent alone Barker/WHitley were kings of the night but based on points for W's the Gilbert/Lemaster duo holds the lead in the 64/60 Rankings. A official Rankings will be established after the 2nd event has taken place.
Despite Gilberts claims I have no hard feelings about the efforts of any members of the 9irons on Saturday afternoon. And I would not hesitate for a second to play the matchup again and this time a there would be a different outcome with out a doubt. As I stated in the video the event was going to be one hell of a good time and I fell very confident in stating that the event was just that. I hope within a couple of weeks to schedule another Swing and Swim Event along with Event 2 on the Cornhole Circuit and hopefully the number of participants will grow. I want to thank everyone who attended and I hope that your day was as joyful as mine.

Who won the pool baseball game? Or was there not a competition?
Please advise.
Jess
For the record, I only gave up 1 earned run. Everett, had a man on 2nd when he decided to voluntarily pull himself.
Additionally, I truly believe that Corey was looking down on The Dingers as we pummeled your silly asses.
Jessica.....Coleman was also on the losing end of poolball. He went a BIG O-fer for the days events.
He did hit the only HR (from what I have gathered), giving him the slight individual performance advantage.
Jesse, Coleman did hit the games only homer, but he did little else, Take into consideration my big ass was 4-6 with two doubles, 2 DOUBLES,2 RBI's and Emily Stein( and her tits) was 3-3 with a run scored, then you obviously see that Burt did not have that impressive of an offensive day... Which is why, although I was the foundation and Em was the spark, Steve Maynard, who did nothing offensively is the MVP due to his Defensive exploits on this day.. I hope this clears up the mess, sans boxscore of course..
Josh,
So Coleman went 1-6 with a HR?
To what do you attribute Emily Stein's (and her tits') success? That is how did she go 3-3 with a run and Coleman (and his moobs) go 1-6. Did Buck not come out and fix his knee?
I'd like to attend the next one. Any suggestions on how the game could have been better; aside from a little more competition from Burt?
Jesse
Maynard was the MVP thanks to his good pitching but I was better than the 1-6 mark that Gilbert has suggested. I was actually 3-6 for the record.
Let it be known that were it not for lack of drinks ie:beer a plenty, but one lone bottled water.I would have stayed hydrated and sparkled defensively as I had in the early innings.Due to my advanced age and the extreme heat it was quite simply more than I could handle without hydration.Lord I'm starting to whine like other 64/60ers that I need not mention.
GRC
Also 1 end of the Coleman family did win the pool ball game.ME.Come to think of it all members of the losing wiffle ball team were winners in pool ball except........................Ah forget it actually not relevant.
How many errors were made?
