Last Rasslin' show at Field House, Ricky Morton still rockin' the locks

How many of you are even old enough to remember when wrestling was good at the Veteran's Memorial Field House? Probably not many are going to remember Georgia Championship Wrestling storming into Huntington in the days prior to the Civic Center being the go-to venue for entertainment in the Jewel City. The grand ol' lady will soon meet her demise, at the hands of Marshall University Development and a wrecking ball, but before the last bell rings, local wrestling troupe @304wrestling hopes to send her out with a bang... Plus, Ricky Morton apparently still has a boss mullet...
The building, which was also known as the home of Marshall hoops pre-Henderson Center;Battle ground for Huntington high school hoops for The Pony Express, East, Vinson, and St.Joe's (which their initials inlaid in tile at the entrance, have outlasted the very schools themselves); And, as a place to go watch the OJ Mayo Show whenever his circus came roaring back into town.

The older it got, the further away from it's original staples it went. No more Marshall. No more boxing. No more Pro Wrestling.
Most of the newer generations probably know it as it is now: a dilapidated venue where every once in a while a High School basketball tournament takes place that features some good D1 prospects and lot's of dunks and a wrestling show that is a shadow of the likes of the GCW/NWA shows the building was once accustomed to seeing.

Huntington Prep made it a stomping grounds of sort in recent years, and so did 304 Wrestling.
The venue allowed them to become a legit wrestling company, as it got them out of putting on shows at night clubs and volunteer fire departments.

January 15th, 304 says goodbye to their home, as does the rest of Huntington, to a huge piece of the city's sporting history.
