NKU upsets WVU

1.1 seconds in the land of almost heaven.
That was the amount of time left in regulation. It was just the right amount for Northern Kentucky to drain a last-second shot and upset the Mountaineers of WVU, 77-74.
NKU led by 17 in the first half, but WVU came storming back and inched back into it in front of their home crowd at West Virginia Coliseum. WVU tied it at 74 on a 3 dialed in by Bryant for the 'Eers.
However, the night would not belong to Gilligan, Don Knotts, or anybody named West. This night was reserved for Eshante Jones. Jones hit the shot with 1.1 seconds remaining that sealed the deal. West Virginia did inbound the ball, but did not get a shot off as time expired.

The Norse were led by Tony Rack(great name) who contributed 21, and the aforementioned Jones, a transfer from Nebraska, netted 15. Rose Hill alumnus Chad Jackson filled the stat line with 9 points and 7 boards, and Rose Hill/Russell star Jon Van Hoose contributed 12 points behind his 4 three performance.
Kevin Jones also added 22 points and 7 rebounds for the Huggy Bears.

So rejoice, its retribution all over the place for the Draft Cats.
maybe it's a good thing the Big East may be going down the extinction path. After all, when they are paired up with the smaller Kentucky programs, it does not end well. (see Morehead State/Louisville)
NKU was 0-18 all-time against D1 teams in exhibition games.

Here is to those plunderin' Noresmen, from Northern BY GOD Kentucky.
