Various wrestling-centered news sites, and confirmation from Blackjack Mulligan via Facebook, have released information in regards to Barry Windham this evening.Initial reports have stated that it is not known whether it was a heart-attack or stroke, but in any event Barry Windham has been admitted to a Florida-area hospital into the ICU.
Windham, 51, was said to have been found, alert and awake, but on the floor and in pain before he was taken to the hospital.
Windham, one of the absolute best to ever to earn a paycheck in the world of controlled combat, retired from active duty in the ring wars in 2004.
UPDATE:
Windham was apparently not as alert as was originally reported. It seems as if he had suffered several injuries from he resulting fall after the heart attack/stroke. He was found incoherent, but awake, by his brother-in-law and former US Express partner, Mike Rotundo, who was also known as IRS, Michael Wallstreet, VK Wallstreet, Mr. Wallstreet and Captain Mike Rotundo. Rotundo is currently a road agent with WWE.
