Put whoever you want in a locker, as long as we go bowling.

Holy Shit, Batman! Joker is killing our football program... Those thoughts and words have been echoed by nearly every fan of the UK Football team. We go from a Bowl-contending team under Ol' Man Brooks, until, no pun intended, a complete joke under Joker.
I understand wanting to give Joker a shot. He's a hometown guy. He played here. But, he is not winning here. It's year two, and we have gotten worse. And, like I have said before, we don't exactly have lofty goals here in Lexington. A competitive team and a bowl game, that's all that we ask. We gave Bear Bryant a Zippo and Rupp a Caddy. That tells you our priorities. We don't want to shake those up, but we do want to be a good, not great, football school. Florida, Ohio State, and others seem to be able to experience success in both, so why can't we? With all of our resources there really is no excuse to not field a better team than we do.
But, we can't do it with Joker. It's time to deliver the punchline, and go a different route.

A few days ago, I joined and spread the word of a movement which was to bring Mike Leach to Kentucky. Leach is the former Texas Tech head coach who got in trouble for locking a spoiled, arrogant, prima dona in an equipment locker during a game. That led to his firing and a slew of law suits.
Leach was also the former Offensive Coordinator at Kentucky, under Hal Mumme with our famous Air Raid offense. The one that put a billion points on the board, led to a Kentucky QB being drafted #1 into the NFL, and saw Bowl game appearances.
That regime caused ridiculously exciting games, a team that could score on any SEC team, almost at will, and filled Commonwealth every Saturday.
It also caused NCAA sanctioning.
However, I still feel as if Leach would be a great hire if he was brought back to Lexington. Looking at his success at Texas Tech, I imagine that he would be able to duplicate that success here in the Bluegrass, or at the very least, get us back to where Papaw Brooks had us. Which was about 7 wins a year, and Bowl Game glory.
And that is all we ask.
And, the movement may be gaining some steam, and Barnhart may be taking notice.
Following is a recent interview Leach did over the last couple days with KSTV, the TV show ran by KSR. He touches on his book, the book tour, and his time in Lexington. If you are one of those 'read between the lines' folks, you can see he would more than entertain the possibility of coming to Kentucky.
Just so you know, Mike Stoops is available, too.
