In-N-Out The 64/60

Before we get knee deep in Football action let's take the extra time and put a bow on the 2011 Baseball campaign. As most are already aware the 64/60 Commissioner and soon to be inducted 64/60 Hall Of Famer, Josh Coleman, took home his second consecutive Baseball Championship. It was a great season for the Bear Creek FP Factory nearly going wire to wire in the top spot and tying the record for fewest Head to Head losses on the season. In other 64/60 Baseball action the Bear Creek FP Factory reigned supreme in the 64/60's first Auction League. I'll be the first to admit that as a league there wasn't a great attention to detail despite the daily transactions in which those in the Head-to-Head League sorely missed. The Factory grabbed the top spot just before the All Star break and never looked back. Finally, it wasn't all roses when it came to baseball and Bear Creek FP Factory ownership this season. The 64/60 had a miserable season in the NFBC finishing 11 of 12 within our league and 180 out of 228 nationally. This season followed much of the same script as last season as our top three picks went bust for the most part. Our pitching wasn't strong, and our roster was void of closers Unlike last season we didn't find the Chris Young, Corey Hart, Alex Rios types late in the draft that applied a huge band aid on our inefficiencies. I am fully confident that the mistakes of this season will not be a issue moving forward and fully expect to be a contender in 2012. I hope everyone enjoyed the 2011 season as much as I have and hope that we return in 2012 better than ever.

64/60 Football

We are now nearly a third of the way through the 2011 Football Season. Given the shallow Free Agent pool the next four weeks outcomes will likely be determined by bye weeks, as teams rely on 3rd and 4th WR's to replace number 1's. With that in mind the balance of league power can easily switch and even some of the weaker teams could have a run in them over the next month. So keep your head up Three Penis Wine, BC Fightin Amish, and Argumentative 9irons there is still a chance after all back in 08 Jesse Ward and the Fuck This League's started off 1-3 and still made the playoffs.

Game Recaps

BCFP 189 vs. Sons Of Jim Mora 159. Fantasy Football may be a matchup between two teams but more often than not the team with the most outstanding player that week wins. Aaron Rodgers six TD's sealed the deal for the Factory as these two playoff contenders battled it out.

Seneca Wallace 224 vs. TRB's 143. The Wallace's moved to 2-1-1 on the year with this weeks lone 200 point performance. Five players posted totals above 20 during the week. In a contrast of styles the ground game of the Wallaces features four true number one backs and two that could easily finish the season among the top 10 at their position. The TRB's feature a spread offense with 8 WR's and a backfield of Reggie Bush and something called James Casey. Hardly a recipe for success when so much emphasis in Fantasy is put on Rushing TD's. The TRB's do have some parts to move but they must realize when negotiating it's hard to get equal value in return when all the leverage belongs to the other team.

Stars 161 vs. Three Penis Wine 135. Another example of the best player during the week guiding his team to victory. The Stars offense featured the two highest point earners during the week and the lone 30+ point producer for the week and that was essentially the difference. The Stars have the second highest total of points on the season and are once again at .500 on the year. For Three Penis it's been a tough go of it. From a player by player standpoint I love the talent. Stafford and Fitzpatrick is about as good as it will get from a QB duo. Fitzgerald is a stud, Wayne has fallen victim to the loss of Manning, Holmes is in the same boat with Sanchez. I do worry about MJD and fear that his best days could very well be behind him. Even without MJD at his best the RB unit itself should be at least league average with it's depth. Of the three teams below .500, Three Penis Wine, certainly has the most talent to turn it all around.

Marshall Maniac 188 vs. Argumentative 9irons 158. I look at the roster of the Maniacs and ask myself how this group of misfits are leading the league in points earned. Yet each week some player post a 30 or 40 point outburst and the rest of the roster is filled with 20+ point performers. I have my doubts regarding Cam Newton producing one 20+ point game after another yet when I watch them it's clear that the Panthers are more than content of taking the gloves off Newton and having him be their offense. Welker is clearly the go to guy for Brady so he appears capable of putting up Moss type numbers back in the day. So as much as I would like to dismiss the youngster from 64/60 supremacy discussion I have a feeling he will hang around all season. The same cannot be said for the 9irons who feature 3 players who are lucky to earn 3 points per week and outside of Rivers and Johnson I'm not banking on another 20 point performer.

Chump Slayers 183 vs. 12th Round Kicker 113. The emergence of Jordy Nelson as another top target of Aaron Rodgers has the Chump Slayers poised for another playoff run for James Hardy. Much like the 9irons the Slayers do have about 3-4 spots on the roster that would be lucky to earn 5 points in a week. Unlike the 9irons the Slayers have about 4 options who could earn 20+ each week making up for the lack of production. Forte could end up being a Top 5 player overall this season as thus far he has been the Bears entire offense. The loss brings the Colonels back to .500 and the 113 points shines a spotlight of concern on a group featuring Roethlisberger and Henne as the QB's. For the Kickers to contend they are in need of Roddy White and Darren McFadden being top options at their positions each week. With that in mind I find it hard to see a long winning streak coming from the Kickers however with the balance within the league it appears a .500 team will make the playoffs.

Busy Beavers 192 vs. Curtis Painters Mane 158. After four weeks the 64/60 has two trends that have been established. The Busy Beavers do not lose and Christopher Lee does not win. If you would have forcasted this prior to the start of the season I would have laughed. Year in and year out Chris is amongst the best in the game pushing all the right buttons and having every other owner in the league cussing his gelled hair and mocking his sweater vest fashion approach. Tim Davidson was the lovable loser. The big drunk teddy bear on draft day that is more known for the amounts of liquor and finger foods consumed than his draft approach. From a player by player standpoint I would almost take the roster of the Mane's however as I have mentioned time and time again throughout this post it's about the breakout weeks more so than depth and the Beavers featured 4 20+ point performers compared to 2 from the Mane's and the Baltimore defense for the Beavers were the high point earners for the week with 32.

Pickup Of The Week

Laurent Robinson- Seneca Wallace. Not sure how much long term value this deal will have as Robinson is taking the spot of Austin. Regardless Robinson had a 7 catch 100+ yard week and cost the Wallace's $0 of FAAB budget to do so. Should Robinson move into the third WR spot once Austin returns the value of this move will continue to grow.

Head Scratcher Of The Week

Jacoby Jones dropped by Marshall Maniacs. Sure Jones has done next to nothing this season but a day after the Texans announced Jones would take the place of injured Andre Johnson he is put back of the market for Titus Young a third WR for the Detroit Lions. Will Jones take the place of Andre Johnson and become a 20 point per week player, no, but what he does become is a Top 2 WR on a team that tends to fling the ball around 30 times or so a game. In a league with such limited options on the Waiver Wire guaranteed playing time means more than the most recent week to week production. I imagine Jones will eat up someones FAAB budget before the end of the week.

That's true. Although all of my teams supported the message that the "Fuck this Leagues" stood for which seems obvious.
