Awesome 80's Pro Wrestling Pics #3

Ted Turner had this new Rasslin' show he needed to brighten up. And, in 1989, Ricky and Robert were not exactly the teen-age dream they used to be. So, at the dawn of Vision Street Wear, Neon Colors, Body Glove shorts, and those damn caps with the flipped up bills, the people at TBS started brainstorming. Hey, there are turtles eating pizza and riding skateboards screaming cowabunga(one of the buzzwords of the day). That Christian Slater has a skateboard and is gleaming some cube. ... I know! let's have a skatboarding tag team in obnoxiously bright colors and call em' the dudes... It will be totally boss. Take a pre-Franchise Shane Douglas and put him with pre-WWE VP of Talent John Laurenitis, then known as Johnny Ace, also known as the guy who used to carry the New Zealand flag for the Sheepherders. and Whammo! You got the Dynamic Dudes. For today's fan, imagine you got two John Cenas on one team. Built for kids, hated by older wrestling fans. I kinda dug em', but I was 9. They put Douglas and Ace(also younger brother of Road Warrior Animal) out of their Radical misery by having them get buried by the Midnight Express after not even Jim Cornette being in their corner for a month could help them. However, they did come to the ring to that awesome Beach Boys/Fat Boys mash-up of 'Wipeout'... But, the concrete surfer dudes couldn't really ride the Boards they were being pushed at being a big part of their personalities... Might have been a sign they should have paid more attention to in Atlanta, or maybe in a time when 'Biff Killing' was so popular, this was destined for failure.
