Spreadology 2010 Abbreviated Edition

After a hot start I have been cold as Vanilla Ice that last three weeks. My 23-22 record warrants little confidence in using my guidance I cannot fault anyone for placing doubt. Regardless I will not let the first 8 weeks of the Football season, when I was as hot as a Myrtle Beach hotel during Senior Week, be forgotten. So I will continue to hit you with pick after pick and at seasons end we'll see how many stick.

Iowa vs Northwestern +10. The second of Back To Back road games for the Hawkeyes and Ohio State awaits next week. This is Homecoming for Northwestern and this is a spot they have performed well under Fitzgerald. Hawkeyes win but the Wildcats cover.

Utah vs. Notre Dame +6. For the first time ever I am not choosing Notre Dame as a homer pick. First and foremost last week Utah went from possible National Title contender and BCS bowl team to the Poinsetta Bowl or some other irrelevant game played on a Tuesday at 5 on ESPN Ocho. Secondly, every College Football analyst I heard last year spoke of Kelly as one of the best scheme guys in the game. If this is the case then Kelly has had two weeks to prepare for this game. Finally Utah has dismantled every team they have played outside of TCU and they are facing a Irish team who just lost to Tulsa and are starting a true freshmen QB yet they are only a 6pt dog. Irish not only cover they win outright, increase their bowl chances, and perhaps most importantly their win will somewhat deminish what TCU did last week which could eventually lead to Boise overtaking them and rightly so.

Georgia vs. Auburn -9.5. Clear Eyes Big Heart Can't Lose. One of the Greatest Quotes from a great coach. Given all of Auburn's off field issues I doubt Clear Eyes can be achieved. Georgia's offense will move the ball. Problem is Auburn will likely do the same. Take away the impressive performance in Oxford the Tigers have been in tightly contested conference games all season. I see no reason to suspect the trend will not continue in this one. Georgia not only covers they win this "last one with the football" game by a last second FG.

Vikings vs. Bears -1. This would be a no brainer if the Vikings actuallly liked their coach. Since they don't think much of Childress this thing could go either way. They could struggle in the first half and mail it in at halftime after another Childress bitch fest or someone will stand up to Childress tell him that the only way they are going back on the field is without him. Then lead by Brett Favre as player/coach they play like gods for the next 30 minutes and leave it all on the field. Sounds like something that could only be thought up in Hollywood.

Chiefs vs. Broncos PK. The Chiefs are to good of a team to lose two in a row. Simple enough.

RECAP: Northwestern +10, Georgia +9.5, Irish +6, Vikings +1, Chiefs PK
