Buzz Peterson, whom may be remembered by members of the BBN as the former head-coach of Tennessee, and as a player at North Carolina, during the Jordan years, is now seating courtside leading a new squad. Peterson, who had some success at smaller schools like Tulsa and 2 stints at Appy State, now returns back home to North Carolina to lead the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks. Wilmington is known more for a girl named Joey climbing in a boy named Dawson's window than it is for it's hoops. This is Peterson's 3rd team in his home state as a head coach, UNCW joins Coastal Carolina and Appy on the list.
Tonight, another branch of Kentucky gets it's chance to hate Buzz. Morehead State is looking to go 3-0 on the infant stages of the season by traveling down to Dawson's Creek and taking on the Seahawks. All-American Kenneth Faried should be enough to make that happen tonight in Capeside...
Now, I am listening to the game right now, via internet broadcast of the Morehead State Radio Network(and watching the Colbert Report at the same time). Now, I came across a link for a live video broadcast of the game, but then I was alerted to the fact that I would have to pay 4.95 to watch it through the services of UNCW. I'll take a pass.
And apparently, MSU's radio announcer decided to set up shop right in the UNCW student section, as I have heard every derogatory comment that the J-Crew clad students of UNCW have thrown at Kenneth Faired....Some made me chuckle, some are just petty and juvenile...
Oh, and the announcer just referenced Faried as 'Special K'... sigh....
