Oklahoma takes on Missouri...two more un-beatens. Oklahoma is going to buck the trend of 3 weeks of #1's going down... Missouri is not the same team that was outclassed by the Okies in previous bowl games. They have a much better defense then they had in that season. However, not only is it a different season, but Oklahoma is also different. Not quite the teams of the past for the Sooners, but still not too shaby either... It's gonna be Boomer Sooner this Saturday as Oklahoma remains numero uno.
Kentucky beats Georgia, and Miss St. continues it's hot streak by beating up on UAB.
And did you see Oregon blitz UCLA the other night?? We all know Burt loves that Pac 4000 Football, and it's piss yourself scariness, or so he has said. But the Ducks, I like. They play like an SEC team. Oregon is avg. 18 td drives of over 80 yards this season and only taking on average 2:00 to accomplish this. Their defense??? The Ducks have only allowed 23 points, total, in the second half this season... With the remaining slate of games they have left I don't think they will run the table and go unbeaten...But just because Burt severly overstates Stanford's value and worth, and because Bret Musburger practically jizzed his pants over Stanford QB Luck, I hope that Oregon OBLITERATES The Cardinal in a few weeks.
Still a wide open SEC East and I stand by my prediction of Kentucky running the table and winning the East...
Now, The Northeastern Kentucky High School round-up...
I see an ugly night ahead for the Scarlet and White, and not just because folks from Louisa will be coming to Cannonsburg. Law Co. will use the Lions for their chew toy tonight...and I look for the Dawgs to hang about 60 on the Lions. L-I-O-N-S.
After last weeks scalping of The Tomcats by the officials, Montgomery County has the task of trying to maintain Johnson Central and their ground-attack. J.J. 'Hey' Jude will have yet another night where he runs everywhere he wants...Tonight could be the night that Jude breaks into the elite 2000 yard club. He set a record last week, why not make it two in a row. Person who will be most interested in this game? Dickie Martin.
Green UP will obliterate their host from Lil' Mexico. Lyle should have no probelm navigating through the non-existent Raider D...Oh well, at least Raider Mart has reasonably prices on their snack cakes.
Ashland will beat Woodford tonight pretty soundly...But don't let this fool you....Ashland is still not and will not be nor play like the Ashland that ADI told us they were.
The Rail Cities Bowl is going to be particularly interesting. Raceland and Russell are having very down years by their own lofty standards. This will probably be a very close encounter...but I am going with Russell in this one. The Dev's have been improving with each passing week and they have a kid named Googie Hayes....That's enough to sway me.
The Main Event is going to be Fairview and class king-pin Lexington Christian. What's not to like about Fairview? Other than being from the Wood, they are a small school and they whip people's ass'...Raceland tried to get under their skin with gangsta rap and all Fairview did was beat the holy hell out em'... I really think that Fairview could finish this season with another perfect record, but not a BC 1997 kind of perfection. I like Fairview in a battle that is well worth the price of admission... Just don't go looking to make an evening of it in Westwood.
