* Oregon and Auburn both avoided road setbacks with convincing wins. The Kool Aid of the week being served was USC circling the wagons and Ole Miss and Massoli being to much for the Tigers to handle. I was guilty of drinking the Kool Aid. I wasn't neccesarily buying that either team would fall but I did suspect both contest to be tight. All the buildup may lead you to believe that Oregon and Auburn may have seperated themselves amongst the other top teams. I'm just not buying that. USC is absoultely terrible on defense in their seven games this season they have looked impressive in one and that was against the countries most Jekyl and Hyde team Cal. Offensively they certainly have weapons and let's face it they moved the ball succesfully against the Ducks. As for the Rebels, they are a below .500 team who lost to Jacksonville State at HOME. Ducks and the Tigers should be the top two teams in the BCS however I still believe the Ducks will fall at some point and the road for Auburn won't be easy.
* Have you seen the latest BCS standings? Did you notice a new team at Number 3. It's not the Broncos of Boise but another Non-Major who could slide into the title game. TCU now holds the three spot and they hit the road next week to face #5 Utah. Should TCU escape with a win it could make it difficult for Boise State to overtake the Horned Frogs. The Broncos do have Nevada, Fresno and Hawaii who all have good records and Utah State is better than you would expect. Also keep in mind the Horned Frogs have a good San Diego State squad after Utah, two bye weeks in a three week span could be enough however for the Broncos to overtake the Horned Frogs down the stretch. In typical computer world fashion the final outcome in this race will likely not be the result of what Boise or TCU accomplishes. Their final computer rankings will likely be based in many ways on what Non-Conference opponents accomplish. Both played Oregon State while the Horned Frogs are riding the coatails of the Baylor Bears and Boise has the Hokies of Va. Tech
* With several weeks remaining on the College Football Schedule their is little drama to the BCS unveiling on Sunday Nights. The show is typically filled with hypothetical scenarios with the most commonly discussed is will Alabama overtake Boise or TCU in the event Oregon or Auburn lose? I find to content of the show amusing because it's as if Alabama is the lone one loss team in the country and it's a given that only they should be considered. I will say that Alabama would certainly have a impressive resume because in the event they run the table they would have beaten LSU, Miss. State and Auburn down the stretch. However a one loss team to keep your eye on is Arizona. If they could some how run the table they would have a win over Oregon, Stanford and Iowa, a big IF but something to watch out for. I have circled the Arizona matchup with Oregon as the game I see the Ducks slipping.
* For all the Brian Kelly detractors let's not use this season to hand out any grade. After some heartbreaking losses to open the season they now have three ugly losses in about a month. Stanford, Navy handed Notre Dame a beatdown while Tulsa puts another ugly loss to a Non-Major team. Aside from the Stanford game the Irish haven't exactly been playing all hands on deck. Kyle Rudolph is out for the year and this week Dayne Crist has joined him. Michael Floyd missed the Navy game while third leading WR Theo Riddick has missed the last two. To make matters even worse starting TB Armando Allen has missed the last two contest. Not many teams in the country can overcome that many losses and be productive. With two wins needed to become bowl eligible and only three games remaining which include Utah at home and the Trojans on the road if Kelly can lead the Irish to a bowl game it would be deserving of Coach of The Year Honors.
* I compile my Top 25 on a weekly basis and just let me tell you at this point in the season their are some Top 25 teams that really don't belong. In fact their are about seven to eight teams who don't really have a quality win on the schedule. Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Florida, NC State and Florida State all come to mind. It seems as though three loss teams were very rare in the Top 25 10 years ago until the final two weeks of the season. Now the Calender has just turned to November and on my Top 25 I already have two while 9 teams already have two losses. This speaks volumes as to the parity around College Football.
* The consecutive game streak continues for Favre however he leaves the game due to a cut on his chin. I do have to wonder however was the laying on the stretcher necessary?
* Should Mike Shannahan have returned to the sidelines? One has to wonder. With over two and a half minutes left and in their own territiory with three timeouts left. Shannahan decides to go for it on 4th and 10. Conversion fails and Lions kick a FG to go up by 8 with just under two minutes left. Why not punt it in that scenario? If that decision wasn't a head sctratcher in your opinion, how about Shannahan's decision to go with Rex Grossman over McNabb because in Shannahan's opinion he is better in the two minute offense. Fittingly Grossman shows his effectivness by fumbling the first snap and generating a great two minute offense for the Lions D as the fumble extened the Lions lead.
* How about them Raiders. I said it from the start this team will push for a playoff spot. McFadden is finally playing up to expectations while Michael Bush is the best backup RB in the lead. They could use a playmaking WR. The Chiefs are off to a great start and have a manageable schedule down the stretch but I like the Raiders to make a run at the division.
* How about them Broncos. The once potent offense is now nothing more than a Tim Tebow goaline offense. Nothing better than solidyfying the goaline set with your number one pick.

Kansas City has the best DEF in that division. They are your division winner. Wouldn't rule out the Raiders for a surprise sneak in team tho.
Dont agree with TCU passing Boise.
Josh,
I have an official complaint (improvement opportunity) I would like addressed no later than Nov. 5, 2010.
I had to drop Sidney Rice the other day because I didn't have any room on my roster for a DL'd player. With the bye week, players must be substituted to be competitive. I think I should be entitled to Sidney Rice upon his return (if it happens) since I didn't want to drop him but had to in order to substitute a starting player.
Please advise if 1) we can add a couple DL spots and 2) if I can have Sidney Rice upon his return without having to bid for him; guaranteed assignment.
Thank you,
Jesse
Would love to accomadate the request but no dice. The football roster is set at 15 and so if you have a injured player they have to eat up a roster spot. The only reason we have a DL spot in baseball is because we start the entire roster. But thanks for the heads up regarding Rice I didn't know he was available.
