moving onto the nfc, focusing on thier best division.

moving on to the nfc here as the fantasy football season fastly approaches. i will focus on the conference's best (east). and other observations.

NFC

EAST

1) Dallas Cowboys- the divisions best team from last year returns everyone except for eccentric LT flozell adams. while replacing flozell is an issue, its one of the only issues the team has. the recieving corp of austin, dez, and roy williams is pretty good. i see a slight drop off for austin, but with the addition of dez, teams are going to have a tough time double teaming austin. roy williams is an afterthought to everyone except roy williams. TE witten is tony romos favorite target and potentially his sexual partner. witten is one of two TEs next year that is a near lock for 100 rec. he will lead the team in this catagory. the RB stable is good and deep. i see felix being the flash back to start games with barbor coming in to run people over when DEF are tired. tashard choice could step up bigger this year giving the cowboys one of the deepest backfields in the nfl.
the DEF played better last year and demarcus ware is one of the games best. carpender looks like he will flank ware for some years to come. they cut hamlin in an attempt to get younger but have no real replacement yet. i see this unit not playing as well as last year but being a top 12 or 13 DEF at years end. i hate the cowboys and thier fans.
2010: 2-1 into the break, 10-6 overall. the cowboys fall short of playing on thier home field for the superbowl with only 1 playoff win. my favorite nfl team is whoever is playing the cowboys.

2) Philadelphia Eagles- seems like for the first time since i can remember mcnabb isnt under center. however, andy reid might have the perfect QB for his style of OFF. kolb is more of a pocketpasser with big play target jackson and up and comer maclin at his disposal. mccoy should take strides with the running game. celek will have his biggest year as the teams primary red zone target.
the DEF is the reason the team has a winning record without a veteran on OFF next year. i am sure the OFF will be ok with the exception of a young mistake or two. the DEF is improved through the draft but the team was already one of the most well rounded DEF, finishing in the top 4 of both INT and sacks. asante samual and trent cole are among the leagues best.
2010: 5-2 into the break, 9-7 overall.

3) New York G-men- my second least favorite team took a step back last year finishing 8-8. i think they have a better year this year but not by much. the OFF is ran through the connection between eli and steve smith. smith had 107 catches last year and should come close to that total again this year. manningham and nicks are young and could take another step in the right direction this year. the running game has dropped off and could maybe be attributed to losing the depth that derrick ward brought. the giants could be better then my prediction if jacobs and bradshaw solidify the run more this year. i dont think they will.
2010: 4-3 into the break, 8-8 overall.

4) Washington Redskins- the redskins made huge strides last year to steer the franchise in the right direction with the addition of mcnabb and shanahan. however, thay have a long way to go. shanahans zone blocking and stable of ok running backs (portis, parker, and johnson) will be the best run game mcnabb has EVER had. but the DEF and WR are not elite but should improve from last year. look for this squad to upset some teams that are better and lose to some teams that are worse. haynesworth was the worst way to spend $100,000,000 ever.
2010: 4-4 at the break, 8-8 overall

other observations...

do the reds have staying power? dusty baker is known for choking a little bit, rolen is a question mark now, what do they do at the trade deadline? very interesting situation here. i think they hold off the cards with a key trade at the last hour. brandon webb?

garza no hits the tigers. cool year with multiple no nos and perfect games. finally the rays have something positive to say after a no hittter. they have been no hit TWICE this year. and 4 times in thier short history.

look out for the cubbies

paul staying put. what does the hornets do to assure that they are focused on winning? melo? i think there is a better chance that paul leaves as a FA.
