The Sean Malone mid-day day after Tuesday update...

After 14 glorious years, and roughly 6 really productive seasons, Nomar Garciapara has decided to call it quits. Nomar, who had rose to prominence as the anti-Jeter during the Red Sox' Idiots runs, was actually one of my favs. He was like a modern day Dave Concepcion, with a scraggly chin beard. After stops in Chicago for the Cubbies, Oakland, and then finding a home and somewhat of a true fit in Dodger Blue, Mr.Mia Hamm has decided that he is no longer able to compete day in and day out at the MLB level...He is moving on to where all middle infield/folky utility players go when their playing days are through, ESPN Baseball Tonight as an analyst. What fantasy impact would this have on the upcoming season, well, none....I wold have been the only person who would have picked him up ... That is just how I role...

So here is to you Nomar Garciapara...

In other news.... Big Ben is still a doucher. This is just further proof that being a millionaire superstar quarterback in the NFL is not all that it takes to get layed. Some girls actually have class, and those are the girls that Ben forces his self on...more than likely though, they were asking for it weren't they Ben???

The Browns have released Derek Anderson. Derek is not related to Arn or Ole if you are keeping score at home. Those same Browns are also shopping their other underperforming QB Brady Quinn as possible trade bait...Boy, Holmgreen must think he can build a winner in Cleavland. Well, he is trying anyways. Browns fans should be happy.

The SEC tournament starts on Thursday and the Cats take the floor on Friday in Nashville...why the SEC ever moved the tourney from The Dome in Atlanta to Nashville is absurd to me...

All the little guys have been given their air-time on ESPN as championship week has provided some entertaining games with thh sports world's ultimate sub-plot of punching your free ride ticket to the big dance. Sadly, Morehead was beat in the OVC final by traditional conference kingpin Murray State. Wofford is going dancing for the first time EVER after they upset APPY State for the Southern Conference final. Now, don;t go filling bad for some of these little guys who lose but still may be more derserving of bigger schools that get in...The NCAA and CBS are concocting an plan that would increase the field from 64 to 96...Overkill or a more complete view of the picture?

After Selection Sunday is complete and the tournament pairings are annonced, a printable copy of the bracket challenge which was posted on this site some weeks ago will be available.
