The Dicky Tiller mid-afternoon lasting into next week snack break..

While many of us are basking in the glory Omar Samhan and the Gael force from St.Mary's wearing the glass slipper onthe dance floor, let's get everybody caught up to speed on the Sweet 16...
So, as traditionaly done, the 16th Region took a first round exit. Our little brothers to the imediate southeast, the 15th, are producing a Hoosiers-esque story with little Shelby Valley playing tonight for the Commonwealth's Championship. However, let's not get all teary eyed and wanting Ollie to throw it up granny style, Shelby Valley is one of the better programs in the state, and routinely has 2 or 3 Jimmy Chitwoods on their teams. Another traditional powerhouse, Mason County, was right in the thick of things until the Valley took them down in the semis. Mason didn't really have that Chris Lofton or Darius Miller type player this year.
Shelby Valley also took down West Jessamine, a game that I watched just for implications of the fact that Jody Hamilton coaches there now. That man ruined MANY baseball prospects while in Cannonsburg, and anytime anything associated with him goes down, I am all for it.
And things just don't get better for Dakotah EUton. I was rooting for Euton, and fellow ROse Hill transfer Chad Jackson to get a state title, but Euton's Law prevailed and the Ballard Bulldogs took down the traditional king of the bluegrass, Scott County to set up the championship with Shelby.
Euton, who you may remember, at one time was the top rated player in the nation for his age group while at Rose Hill and was offered up a full ride to UK during the BCG regime. Cal came in and that offer was gone, but before the offer was pulled, Euton had slipped and was non-existent on the National radar any longer and he was the fodder for several grown men's rediculous remarks on various Kentucky recruiting message boards...recruiting message boards...Sounds like a bunch of no talent hacks who pay way too much attention to High school boys in shorts...I digress...Euton was knocked so much by these folks that his self esteem had to take a hit, remember he was not even 18 yet, but he went to Scott County and proved he could hang with the best in the state, and that he could compete outside of the pathetic 16th. Kudos to Dakotah on a high school career that those on the message boards could only dream of having.
Unfortunately, many in the state will be paying little attention, well, maybe Ballard, they are most likely Louisville fans and they have nothing better to do, to tonights championship game at Rupp. Thankfully for those of us who want to see it but are not a ruhtard and are not going to miss Lil' Blue Jesus and the Black Kool-Aid Big Blue Revival tonight, can watch the game either on the 12 hour delay on the Kentucky page on iHigh.com, or when the KYT shows the game on Sunday afternoon...Which in Catlettsburg means it will be fighting for airtime with CMT.
And if yo are not already doing so, turn your knobs to CBS and check out the Racers...This is going to be another barn burner.
