64/60 Owners Meeting Recap

Gilbert I love the logo so much I vote to scrap Lee's dated logo and use this beauty at all times. The 64/60 Owners meeting was held last Saturday Night at RJ Kahuana's. The turnout wasn't what I had hoped but issues were addressed and 2010 is looking to be another great season of Fantasy Baseball within the 64/60. One issue that still needs addressed is a 12th owner. Butch Lemaster has resigned as owner and are first substitute owner James Hardy has yet to commit. I have contacted some people of interest but have yet to had any takers. If anyone knows of someone who would be interested in competing with the best Fantasy Owners in the Tri-State area please have them email me and I will gladly extend an invite pending the interview process. Once the 12th owner is named then we can have the First Annual LETHAL LOTTERY to determine the draft order. The Lethal Lottery will be the first video produced by 64/60 Sports and it will further separate us from just another Fantasy League.

As for the meeting itself attendees included Ashley Coleman, Richard Coleman, Dave Hobson, Christopher Lee and Myself. The meeting included but was not limited to 6 Topics. The first topic discussed was the explanation of the FAAB budget. I explained the process to the attendees and answered any questions they had. For those of you who aren't aware of the FAAB budget it simply replaces the Waiver Priority of years past. Players on Waivers can be claimed by anyone and the services are rendered to the highest bidder. The budget for the season is 100 dollars and only winning bids go against your budget. A rolling tiebreaker will be kept during the season. This will be similar to the old Waiver Priority but is used only as a tiebreaker in the event that two winning bids matched.

The second item covered was the player universe. The NA fiasco of last season is gone. Come draft day you can draft any player you would like. So the Stephen Stratusburg's of the world can have a spot on your roster. In the event that Stratusburg is sent to the minors after Spring Training he must stay on your roster for you to have ownership of that player. However once the season starts all players who aren't on the MLB roster will not be in the available player pool. They will be placed on waivers once they are called up to the "Show". A player remains on Waivers for 4 days. So if Stratusburg is drafted and not on the MLB roster he can be on your roster but needless to say you will be playing short handed.

We reviewed some scoring and league setting changes. Quality Starts have replaced Wins as a pitching category. Just for clarification a Quality Start is 6IP or more and 3ER or less. We have increased the DL slots from 3 to 5 and have lowered the Acquisition limit from 9 to 7. Once again if you would have a terrible run of injuries during a particular week an extension can be approved by me. We also debated changing Saves and SB to Net Saves and SB but both ideas were voted against. We also discussed changing the weekly head to head scoring from categories to W and L. For example instead of winning 10-2 it would be considered a record of 1-0. This issue was also voted against. It was also recommended that the league go to 1 Catcher per roster but I have always and will always be a firm believer in the 2 Catcher spots.

Perhaps the biggest change during the meeting was the approval of a third party trade evaluator. Now trades will be reviewable for 1 day instead of what seemed like a week. Should anyone not approve of the trade simply vote against it and Yahoo will review the trade and hand down a final verdict. This will put a end to the shenanigans of past seasons and ensure a level playing field for all during the 2010 season. The league cost incurred was 15 dollars so 1 dollar per person will be added to the league fee of 40 dollars. Speaking of the league fees we also voted to give the winner of the regular season 40 and the remaining will go to the winner of the playoffs.

Once again if anyone knows of someone interested in a team please let me know. Hopefully we can get the league filled and determine the draft order by the end of the week. I apologize for my absence over the last three weeks but the Factory has been hard at work over the last three weeks preparing for the 64/60 Draft along with the NFBC draft where Christopher Lee and I will represent the 64/60 against some of the industries finest. Later this week I will post the BCFP Factory Top 20 Bats along with the Top 10 Starters. Hopefully over the next two weeks before the draft I can post some other Fantasy nuggets that only the Factory can provide.

If the special guests aren't Brooke Sargent and Wendy Bond 69ing, then I don't care. Buck Vonderheid would be funny.

So, I assume since Coleman wants two catchers.... He vetoed any motion for 1 catcher. Is this the case? It wasn't explicitly stated.

The meeting sounded like fun. I wish I could have been there. See you guys in two weeks.
