64/60 Fantasy Sports Owner Of The Year and Other News

It appears that my Owner Of The Year Standings have once again brought controversey to the 64/60. First off I would like to give you a brief history of the Owner of The Year Award. I wanted to create a award that could be passed around from season to season. I felt a Owner of the Year could honor the Owner who participated in both baseball and football who had the most succesful season. I realize that the most succesful season can be very subjective so I created a point system. Points where to be given for standings, power rankings and playoff results. However the "Council decided to not include playoff events in the point totals. The "Council decided it would be better to have the top three in points nominated for Owner Of The Year then the other owners who participated in both leagues would vote on it. The voters would be instructed to vote on the OofY based on transactions, playoff success, charachter etc. So points where awarded in a reverse point order. So first in the baseball standings received 14 points last received 1. The same method was given for the Power Rankings. We did include 5 points for a playoff appearance.

Over the last month I have decided to take a new approach moving forward. I have decided to dismantle the council. I will make the decisions that I feel are best for the league and I will listen to the opinions of all participants when making decisions. I will run the league in a fair manner and will ALWAYS put the integrity of the league before my own personal agenda. In the event that a controversial item directly effects me a Co-Commissioner will handle the issue. So my first line of business is to find a Co-Commissioner. Christopher Lee will be named the Co-Commissioner should he accept the position. Christopher is very active owner who follows league events on a daily basis. Christopher understands how the game is played and he can navigate both the League Home Page and the 64/60 Sports Blog. Most importantly Christopher will disagree with me anytime he can and in No way would he ever join me in any collusion. So the question is Christopher Lee do you except the new position?

Now to the second order of business, a reconfigured Owner Of The Year ranking. Most of the details will remain the same, points based on standings and Power Rankings and 5 points for a playoff spot. I am going to add 5 points to the league winner. Please note that the Football league only has 12 teams where as baseball has 14 so I am going to award 0 points to teams who finished 13th and 14th in the regular season standings. In addition plese note that the Power Rankings in football is based on Points scored. So the revised Owner Of The Year Point Totals are as follows (numbers are not final since the Football Championship has still not been played).

Christopher Lee 60

Dave Hobson 50

Jesse Ward 48

Josh Coleman 44

James Hardy 40

Mike McClung 26

Bill Fenney 23

Rich Coleman 22

Ashley Coleman 8

If you create the points system for an award that you give, it is still subjective.

Thank you Chris for accepting the position. Your title will be Assistant Commissioner I will get a name plate for your door and desk. Jesse once again thank you for pointing out my error. Would you like to accept a Editor's position within the Bear Creek FP Factory or 64/60 Sports?

Happy Holidays to all,

Josh Coleman
64/60 Commissioner

I will respectfully decline but plan to continue to better the league through pointing out your flaws in reasoning.

I think it is a good idea to single handedly absolve the council. This puts you in charge of all decisions regarding th league. You know there were a few other leaders that had this same approach to governing organizations. Joseph Stalin, Fidel Castro, Adolf Hitler, Mao, Vladmir Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Saddam Hussein, etc - all adored by humanity.

Keep up the good work.

I, unfortunately, will not be in Ashland for the holidays.
