In-N-Out The 64/60

While it wasn't the league wide turn out you would hope for, the first installment of the 64/60 trade summit was a pleasent event. For those of you not aware we had a impromptu gathering at the Headquarters this past Saturday. I extended invites to most if you weren't on the short list it was due to either location or an oversight on my part. Most with invites attended of course the McClungs and GRC3 gave there standard dismissal. The McClungs claimed to be camping while GRC3 has just reached the point of No responses. While we failed to agree on a blockbuster the foundation for deals moving forward was certainly established. We did have multiple board bets put into action Saturday Night. Butch Lemaster quickly lost 10 to Bopp with a H2H Carlos Santana vs. Hunter Pence. Pence had the edge 3-2-1. The other was a H2H from 5/12 until seasons end Desmond Jennings vs. BJ Upton amongst Bopp(Jennings) and Myself(Upton) for $20. Let it be known the board is here whenever you need it. Take exception to some of my statements? So those magic words and a we'll gladly put a little action on it. Amazing how pride and financial incenetives can fuel the competitive spirit. The guest list included Nate Rice, Christopher Lee, Butch Lemaster, and naturally myself from the 64/60. Although it may have been tempting I assure you no more colluding than the norm will come of this. I hope to have these minor gatherings several times during the summer and will attempt to give a little more heads up in the future. I will send out a email in the not to distant future to coordinate the Annual 64/60 Swing and Swim, or Josh Coleman showcase, as it's often reffered. Also Jesse Ward has mentioned having another 64/60 golf outing this year his looking at a seperate week from the Swing and Swim. Look for this information in the upcoming weeks and as always the Commissioner's job is un-ending. Questions, concerns, comments I'm here when you need me. Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening whichever is applicable to you.

Game Recaps

HGH+ 9 vs. B'Ville Stars 2. While Davey Crockett was busy establishing a new colony for family to live, Nate Rice was finally getting some well deserved results. While both owners are favorites of the Power Rankings (see below), neither have had the desired results on the field. While the Stars have been amongst the middle of the Pack poor Nate and Co. have been partnered with Holland on the South Beach of the 64/60. The HGH's across the board production would have bested everyone in the leauge outside of Emanski and that result would have been a 6-6 deadlock. While the W didn't move them up the standings in terms of position it did provide some much needed seperation from Holland and closed the gap from the 6 seed. On a side note congratulations to Senior who somehow generated 16 HR's on offense yet scored only 32 Runs with 38 RBI.

BEST- HGH-Runs, Stars/HGH- HR
WORST- Stars- Runs, Stars- SV, Stars- WHIP
MVP- Johnson 3SV/3K/0.00/.67/9.00

BC PEDophiles 9 vs. Marshall Maniacs 3. I tried to tell the young'en. I knew it was only a matter of time before his hold on the top spot would be lost. The Free Hats could only be held at bay for so long. The question I have, Is this simply the start of the free fall? or Can JR hold on to claim one of the six playoff spots? Meanwhile the leagues least admired owner continues his steady climb in the rankings. While winning hasn't been a problem for Bopp of late the Power Rankings still are hesitant to embrace the Bopp. 64/60 titles aren't won in the Power Rankings, but I assure you, the lack of affection certainly effects Bopp's fragile psyche.

BEST- NA
WORST- Maniacs- SB, Maniacs- AVG, Maniacs- OPS
MVP- Pence .286/2/7/3/2/.905

9irons 8 vs. Takeover 4. In a battle of the leagues to least active owners it was the former champ who came out on top. Or I suppose lost depending how you look at it. It's been an enchanted season thus far for the 9irons. Not only has their first loser place in the standings greatly exceeded the sum of their production, they haven't accomplished this due to their constant tinkering and roster management. A Red Lettered roster has been common place in the early going and with only 3 moves the entire season the endless pursuit to find the perfect formula has not been priority #1 for GRC3. While life may certainly alter your priority listings fantasy championships are certainly not entitled. If adjustments aren't made and made quickly theres a very good chance the early support of lady lack will be all for not.

BEST- Takeover- AVG, Takeover- OPS, 9irons- QS
WORST- (In theory it was an across the board sweep in Pitching for the Takeover as they failed to hit the 40 IP Mark) Takeover- HR, 9irons- SV, Takeover- K, Takeover- ERA, Takeover K/9, Takeover- QS
MVP- Shields 2/14/1.13/.75/7.88

BCFP 6 vs. Scrote Mashers 5. It feels good to get another win under the belt. It makes it even better coming from Jesse. I doubt many follow the day to day matchups outside of their own. I feel rather certain in saying not another contest thus far has been as tightly contested as this one. Not one single stat was decided as action began on Sunday outside of SV's naturally. ERA was the only one which finished with any true type of seperation as the Mashers posted 22+ Innings of nearly shutout baseball on Sunday to pull away. Differential of 1 Run, HR's 3, RBI 3, SB 2, AVG 17, OPS 41, K 8, WHIP .05, K/9 .46 and QS 3. While I may have just put you to sleep with the number crunching I assure you to live it was exciting.

BEST- BCFP- SV
WORST- NA
MVP- Mauer .533/0/10/4/0/1.433

Blasters 6 vs. Hats 6. Butch Lemaster took to social media in the postgame and declared moral victory. The 64/60 has no place for moral victories. Sure the Blasters have struggled out of the gate in terms of production but a quick glimpse of the standings and there they sit one spot out of the playoffs. Moral victories are for the weak. The Bopp's of the world who must absorb themselves with all things them. The Jr's who have found 64/60 baseball success hard to come by. For a person who fancy's themselves to be a future champion have more respect for not only yourselves but for the 64/60 to be content with not losing. Winning is what it's about EV Lemaster not playing not to lose. You've never been that way in life you certainly aren't going to be that way here even with that high 4's team ERA on the year.

BEST- Hats- RBI, Blasters- K, Blasters- QS
WORST- Hats- SV
MVP- Gordon .393/3/5/8/0/1.165

Emanski 6 vs. Walls 6. Without doing a brief research in the history of the 64/60 it sure seems more contest are ending in deadlock this season. It also seems that many of these contest are results of mirrored production. Once again, without true historical facts as my guide, it would seem the the majority of deadlocks are the result of a strong offensive week vs a strong pitching week with 6-0 sweeps in both or perhaps 5-1, 4-2 edges that offset. More this season have been strength vs strength it would seem. For example in this contest both teams performed marginally on offense with Emanski getting the edge in the averages and RBI totals and Bowe earning the rest of the counting stats. However these two teams gave the best pitching performances of the week in terms of quality with Walls posting a 2.00 ERA only to be outdone by a 1.95 from Emanski. Emanski also had to feel good about a sub 1 WHIP of .97 yet he was outdone by Walls .90. Basil doesn't know what it all means, believe me I have asked, I just find the events fascinating.

BEST- Emanski- ERA, Walls- WHIP, Walls- K/9
WORST- Walls- RBI
MVP- Harvey 2/16/1.13/.50/9.00

Pickup Of The Week

Heath Bell- BCFP. In hindsight I felt this week was one of the more difficult weeks to come up with a winner. All things considered the combination of Bell's closing status and a chance to honor myself made this the selection. While the sum of Bell's stats won't overwhelm you he's been rather solid this season outside of three appearences or so. Bell's fall from grace has coincided with his struggling K Rates yet if you look this season it has returned back to elite status. While it's certainly plauseable that Bell could pitch himself out of the role with mirroring performances of this past Sunday, I'm feeling rather confident he can be good enough to remain in the role the entire year.

Head Scrathcer Of The Week

Free Hats drop Paul Maholm. So maybe he's not the Cy Young level pitcher he displayed over the first month of the season. But is he really as bad as the pitcher he's been 3 of his last 4 starts? I personally feel the true Maholm is somewhere in the middle. Certainly a player capable of producing a ERA in the low 3's with 120 K's and 18+ QS from this point forward. Add in a favorable Pitchers park and perhaps and one of the better defenses in all of baseball playing behind him, I see no reason at all Maholm doesn't produce like a #3-#4 Fantasy starter moving forward. I just don't feel the same can be said for AJ Griffin who to me is more of a #5-#6 option at best.
