Tri-State Hoops Classic will go on as planned, despite weather

The snow squalls that arrived from the west may have been enough to wreak havoc on some's travel plans, may have even gave a few an extra day off from work and certainly allowed the kids to mess around in the white stuff.

One thing it won't do, though, is throw a wrench in the plans of the Tri-State Hoops Classic.

Earlier today, Rob Fulford put the minds of those wanting to get out to Spring Valley tonight and catch a glimpse (some for the 50th or so time) of Andrew Wiggins and the rest of the D1 carnival that is Huntington Prep, at ease.

The Huntington Prep mastermind confirmed via his Facebook, that the events will indeed go on as scheduled tonight.

Wear your long-underwear and grab your toboggans (here that is a hat, not a sled), because the trip up will be the coldest part. The Express and company are going to heat up the Tri-State tonight.

Games start, as planned, at 6:00, with St. Joe's taking on Scott County in girls action, then followed by Ironton and local stand-out Zac Carter taking on Flora Macdonald (NC), before Huntington Prep takes the court against Oldsmar Christian (FL).
