Kenneth Faried wins most meaningless MVP award in history of mankind, Helps Team Chuck put Team Shaq on the shelf

Kenneth Faried scored a game high 40 points on 18-22 shooting to lead Team Chuck to victory over Team Shaq in the BBVA  Rising Stars game by the tune of 163-135.

Faried most certainly dominated a game in which people may actually try less than in the All-Star game. Which was a refreshing change, considering that Faried looked as if he was honestly trying. He was putting forth the effort, and showing that some pro-hoopers still have pride and integrity and integrity and a desire to perform their best, and win. Damn it.

However, if you had any reservations about this year's dunk contest, and were fearful it would be a dud, Faried let you into his kitchen tonight to sample the menu... The kid rattled the rim time after time with thunderous dunks felt every where from Denver to Rowan County, and back to Houston where the dred-locked 'Head Alum lifted off time and time again. Maybe that wasn't an projectile from space felt in Russia today after all. It very well could have been a Faried dunk.

His fellow participants in the game, just got out of the kid's way and watched like the rest of us in awe.

However, he said that tonight was basically just the cheese sticks portion of the meal. It has nothing at all to do with the main course he plans to serve tomorrow night in the actual dunk contest.

Because of the effort Faried put into the exhibition tonight, he and the rest of Team Chuck will get a cool 25K bonus for winning the game, and he took home an accolade that may be more meaningless than the BCS generated National Title. (I know, even I, an SEC homer, thinks that the BCS is garbage.)

Oh yeah, Kyrie Irving made Brandon Knight look somewhat foolish. Stinking Douche Blue Devil. Hate em'.

Knight was one of three former Cats in the game. He and Faried were joined by Anthony Davis on Team Chuck, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered the defeat on Team Shaq.

It's been somewhat of a Kentucky-centric week in Basketball circles. Noel's injury, BBN represented well on All-Star weekend, and MKG was apparently beat in a game of one on one by his boss. However, it's not the same as our bosses beating us in a game of HORSE. His boss is Michael Jordan. You know, the G.O.A.T. MJ is 50. MKG is just barely 20.
