Rondo won't be knifing through defenses for remainder of season, he will be going under one for torn ACL

Rajon Rondo has been confirmed to be scheduled for season-ending surgery to repair his torn ACL. The tear occurred during this past Friday's game with the Atlanta Hawks. He missed the showdown with Miami today, after attempting to warm-up with what was thought to be just a hyper-extended knee. He was unable to participate in pre-game due to the injury not getting any better. He then went to have an MRI done, and it was confirmed he did indeed tear his ACL.

The Celtics made it official by releasing the information on the team's Twitter account.

Means?: The Celts are done.

Rondo averages just shy of 14 points a game and was handing out 11 assists each time out.

During the game in which Rondo suffered the injury, he played 45 minutes and recorded a triple double, in what would eventually have been a double OT loss to the Hawks.

The C's have lost 6 in a row... They were already reeling... This sinks them.

It's only fitting:
