Yeah, looks kinda' like a knock-off of the Maui Invitational logo, but whatever. |
Rob Fulford and Huntington Prep will be bringing in some top area talent to Spring Valley High School for it's inaugural Tri-State Hoops Classic. The event will be held on February 1st and 2nd.
The main draw, of course, will be Fulford's Huntington Prep Express, who will have games on both nights of the event, playing at 9:00 pm on the Friday schedule, and 6:30 during the Saturday finale.
The 2-day event will feature both boys and girls action, and it includes teams from Huntington St. Joe, Scott County(KY), Oldsmar Christian Academy (FL), June Buchanan, Ironton, Chesapeake, Tolsia, and Huntington High , to go along with the nation's premier high school program, Huntington Prep.
The Classic will have tons of talent on hand, not only including Andrew Wiggins and company from Prep, but also Mychal Johnson of St. Joe's girls team, who has signed with Notre Dame. Another girl to watch that weekend will be Scott County's Tereka Guyn. Among the local standouts who will be on the floor will be Ironton's Zac Carter, Tolsia's Austin Brewer, and Arik Nicks of Huntington High.
Should be a great opportunity for the local kids to get some exposure from the rub provided by Wiggins(#1 player in the nation, UK Recruit), Rathan-Mayes(FSU), Moses Kingsley(Arkansas), Dominic Woodson(Baylor), the rest of the D1 prospects on HP, and Oldsmar's D.J. Bowles, who is signed with Wichita State.
