Google makes a doodle to celebrate the 95th birthday of Jackie Robinson

When you turned on your internets machine today, chances are, this was looking at you square in the face. Today, on what would have been the 95th birthday of the barrier breaker himself, Jackie Robinson, Google gave him the 'doodle' treatment.

Throughout the years, many people say of all the Negro League players, Robinson should have been way down on the list of those who were chosen to integrate America's pastime. Robinson, however, fit the profile of what Major League Baseball wanted, and it wasn't necessarily all having to do with what he brought to the field.

Jackie Robinson may be one of the biggest beneficiaries ever of being profiled.

And, seriously, how can you argue with his being picked for the role after knowing that his selection led to the awesome TV movie, "The Court Marshall of Jackie Robinson"? Ranks right up there with "Death of The Incredible Hulk".

In this day and age, there may be no bigger honor than being a Google Doodle.
