It has been too long since I have vented my frustrations about specific areas of the sports world.
Today I would like to concentrate my complaints towards the "band-wagon" fan and the "I have 17 favorite teams" fan. We see it so often, as it grows rapidly (like untreated jock itch) in social networks such as twitter and Facebook. I might be many things both good and bad.....I'm not a hypocrite. I have one favorite team in each of my favorite sports. I'm a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan, a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, and I bleed UK blue.
I can't seem to stick with an NBA team so therefore I can't really call myself a fan, besides I have my Cats.
Which leads me to the point that I'm trying to make. I can root for the Cowboys (professional football) because they don't play the Cubs (professional baseball) or the Cats. I cannot stand these idiotic people that pull for Alabama football and Syracuse basketball, in my humble opinion that takes the greatest attribute of being a fan....loyalty.
And while I'm at it I'd like to take a shot at all these new found Cat fans: Where were you during the dark days of Tubby Smith and Billy Clyde?...I have stuck by my teams through thick and thin, that is why it means much more to me than it does to you.
