In-N-Out The 64/60

Perhaps the logo is a bit dated. Regardless the message is quite clear. Shit is about to get serious in the 64/60. The annual Swing and Swim is a little over a month away. Over the last two weeks the 64/60 offices have been flooded with phone call after phone call requesting a official date announcement. After compiling data from various Harris interactive polls and in conjunction with Dave Hobson's request the Swing and Swim will be held July 21st. Once again the event will be held at the Hell's Fire and Flimstone Field Sports Complex, located in beautiful downtown Rush, KY. A full itinerary will be released at a later date but the event will likely begin at 1pm. The number of participants will determine the format of the wiffle ball portion of the event. The hope would be to have enough to do a 4-Man team double elimination tournament. Should the turnout be rather lackluster a best of 7 64/60 World Series will have to do. Also please mark your calenders for the 64/60 golf outing sponsored by the Thayer Haters. Some details have yet to be announced but the date of July the 8th has been confirmed. Also please note a date will be set in the near future for the 64/60 2012 Football draft. If you would like any input on the date of said event as well as league settings please get with me on this matter. As you can tell by this short informational post it's a good time to be a member of the most prestigious social club in the 41129.

Game Recap

TBA 7 vs. BCFP 5 This battle of marquee names failed to live up to the buildup as both struggled mightily last week. .244 AVG and 4.92 ERA won't win you many weeks but both were good enough totals last week. Bopp will likely celebrate this victory a little to much. He will drink heavily and make every 17-19 year old girl within a 20 mile radius feel a little uneasy. But at the end of the day it was his first victory over the Factory in years it would seem and perhaps exactly what was needed to make this once fierce rivalry meaningful once more.

MVP- Adam Dunn .261/3/4/8/0/.960

LeMaster Cutters 7 vs. #fantasyteamname 5 In a battle of the 2 worst names in the 64/60 the Cutters prevail. Winners of 5 of the last 6 games the Cutters appear to be a lock for a playoff spot given the consistency shown thus far. Make no mistake I still question the leadership. It's only a matter of time before Ev gets a stiffy for the next hot prospect and packages a 3 for 1 deal. Let us also not forget Jesse Ward is merely a phone call away and Ev has always been a one move away from irrational kind of guy. Here's hoping Ev fights off the demons this season and looking forward to a playoff showdown come August. For the owner formerly known as Todd Whitley, it appears the 2012 season is a turn back the clock to 2009 in terms of ownership standards. Four DL spots in the active lineup is the fantasy equivalent of the majority of Interstate Exit Ramp Hobo's, able to work just too lazy to do so.

MVP- Mike Trout .520/0/10/4/4/1.167

M.R.O.T.A. 6 vs. Walls Of Jericho 5 While other members of the 64/60 are searching the Waiver Wire and generating trade proposal after trade proposal, the genius that is Gilbert is going unnoticed. His latest exploit has nothing to do with the Fantasy portion of 64/60 enterprise but yet it's youth department. Gilbert is in the works of making perhaps the greatest logo in the history of logos. This hat will be on the premier shelf of every Lids by this time next year. Once the final stages are completed the final product will be for review on these very pages and I assure everyone will be placing a order. While the latest Walls setback likely effected the moral of Landon Bowe the Swing and Swim announcement has, Co-Owner, Johnathan Barker on full tilt. For the next 30 days or so Eye Of The Tiger will be on loop and the game will be played time and time again in Barkers mind. I'm looking forward to the double wrist band and plastic Reds batting helmet and the balls to the wall mentality that make Barker a true legend of the sport.

MVP- Alfonso Soriano .357/4/7/9/0/1.257

Barboursville Stars 8 vs. Tom Emanski's Deathsquad 3 Another ugly affair as two of the 64/60's elder statesmen squared off. Though Mike has time and time again questioned my question regarding active owenrship he has managed to play with success through those litte red letters surrounding replacement level players. Go with what works I suppose. For Emanski 2012 has been void of any momentum whatsoever. After snapping a four game skid last week this setback still leaves Fenney searching for the second winning streak of the season.

MVP- Andy Pettite 2QS, 18K, 1.35 .83 12.15

Argumentative 9irons 7 vs. Marshall Maniacs 5 Does anyone live a more charmed life than GRC3? His facebook post always reference positive life experiences and his recent play within the 64/60 is among the leagues best. Daily check ins from his Breakfast Place makes me ponder is it coincidence or does a good breakfast really make your life better?....................WILL SOMEONE PLEASE WAKE UP THAT SLEEPING GIANT, THE ALARMS BEEN GOING OFF FOR WEEKS NOW

MVP- Albert Pujols .400/1/7/7/0/1.174

Hendo Colonels 7 vs. Thayer Haters 5 Much like there namesake the fantasy relevance could be short lived. 2012 had been the season for the Haters but as we all learned from Moxon's girlfriend,".... things change." A loss to the Colonels could be that bookmark for when things went south. Tulo aggravates injury, the shocking release of Pedro Alvarez, the heart and sole of the squad loses his closer gig. The perfect storm of imperfect things. Mark week 10 in your calenders gentlemen the season is over good thing he has golf to look forward to.

MVP- Clayton Kershaw 2/17/3.86/1.00/10.93

Pickup Of The Week

Gaby Sanchez- Bear Creek FP Factory. Sure the 2012 season has been a big disappointment for Sanchez but aren't better times ahead? Sanchez did what proven big league players should do when demoted, hit. Sanchez seemed to take the demotion in stride and in his short stay was very effective. Given the Marlins recent injuries combined with Logan Morrison's struggles look for Sanchez to regain his starting 1B position from this point forward. I don't feel as though Sanchez will win a fantasy owner a title but his drawing card is solid production across the board outside SB of course. You'll take a 275-280 hitter with 20 HR pop any day of the week from the limited player pool of the 64/60 Waiver Wire.

Head Scratcher Of The Week

TomEmanski's Deathsquad drop Rickie Weeks. I often praise Fenney for his under the radar, no headlines approach. Though his ice water in veins mentality hasn't netted him a title it has made him one of the most respected owners within the 64/60. So it almost pains me to have Fenney attached to this weekly award. I know it's hard to stomach a AVG below .200 from a player drafted within the Top 8 Rounds. But as the middle of June approaches you must ask yourself can it really get any worse. As a owner you have already absorb what should be the worst of times. Think about it do you really feel as though a proven ML such as Weeks will finish the season batting below .200? If the answer is no then you'll have the remainder of the season of Weeks hitting a tolerable .230-.240 should you retain him. .230 is something to write home about but if you get the Power/Speed Combo to boot you'll certainly take it from the keystone position. While a 30% K rate suggest a big turnaround isn't in sight a improved BB% combined with BABIP below career norms would hint the second half of 2012 should net better results. Too much upside potential to drop for a player the caliber of Ryan Ludwick who are a dime a dozen even in the shallow player pool of the 64/60.

Trade Breakdown

Maniacs send Paul Konerko and Frank Francisco to the BCFP for Shane Victorino, Kevin Youklis, Tommy Hanson, and Carlos Pena. The Maniacs receive a nice haul for perhaps the most underrated fantasy player year in and year out in Paul Konerko. The Maniacs receive depth in the deal as well as an additional 100 innings of quality pitching with Hanson. The Factory gets the best player in the deal and a much needed closer. Youklis is the key to the deal. Should he perform as a Top 10 1B or 3B from this point forward than the Maniacs will win this deal with ease. Truth be told there were three offers on the table containing the same package of players and this was my least attractive offer. Wouldn't go as far as saying I had buyers remorse but I do wish I would have acquired a third part in the deal.
