TCU ran off a run of success and calling out the big boys of college football like they had Michael Irving running patterns and Jimmy Johnson wearing coach's shorts on the sidelines. 2 BCS bowls, 4 consecutive 11 win seasons, and a over-all record of 47-5 in that same span. It was the other, more hidden part of their 'U' like exploits which is garnering the most attention, now.
Tanner Brock, Devin Johnson, D.J. Yendrey, and Ty Horn have all been dismissed from the team, and face expulsion from the school and jail time, if the charges that have been levied carry a guilty verdict.
The 4 football players were involved in a drug-bust that included 13 other students at TCU by the Dallas-Ft.Worth PD. The DFW Police had been working with campus security and tips from various sources about drug trafficking activity on campus. The ring was pushing and distributing Marijuana, Cocaine, A drug called 'Molly' which is what you would call a 'club' drug(think ecstasy), and various prescription pills, including Xanax and Hydrocodone, and several other pills that would be similar to OxyContin.
The operation had went on about 6 months, and it included the drugs being sold to undercover officers by those involved in the distribution of the drugs.
Football wise, TCU lost 4 starters in the bust.
