After the tragic instance of Melvin Turpin taking his life in July of 2010, another former Cat unfortunately took similar actions.
Jim Dinwiddie was found dead this morning, due to a single gun-shot wound in an apparent suicide. Grayson County police were called to his home at around 7 this morning, where they made the discovery.
Dinwiddie, who was 63 at the time of his death, played under Adolph Rupp from 1968-1971 at Kentucky. He would be drafted into the NBA in 1971, in the 10th round by the Philadelphia 76ers.
After his playing days were over, he returned to his hometown, where he had practiced law as an attorney ever since.
