Travelin' Man?

We admit. We were a little bit more than upset when we were given the news that we knew was coming. That Stacey Poole ('s Dad) was leaving Kentucky. He was a personal favorite of ours, and his enthusiasm and child-like nature only endeared him to us that much more. And, we knew that he was going to break-out and be a PHENOMENAL talent.
Unfortunately, earlier this season, we learned it would not happen in Lexington. We covered it extensively, well as extensive as we cover anything. Then, we took to Twitter, hoping he would drop a hint where he was leaning towards transferring.....nothing.
Until now.
Poole has Twitter a buzz tonight, after finally breaking his silence, and announcing the potential suitors for his talents.
It is going to come down to one of these four: FIU,DePaul,Seton Hall, or Georgia Tech. However, he has said that he is on a limited time frame here, and that it is highly unlikely that he will make any visits to these schools, aside from FIU, which as he pointed out, was close to his home and he could make it there no problem. No travel arrangement hassles.
The other 3, are going to have to get by on what he knows already about the programs, and what he had seen in his original recruitment out of high school. He also tipped his hat towards Georgia Tech, not in so many words, but you get the feeling that he likes Atlanta.
So where does he go? I really think that he will pick either FIU or Tech, just out of proximity to his home. He seems to like being close to his family, and being in New Jersey(Seton Hall) and Chicago(DePaul) would go against what we already know about his feelings on the matter.
However, if his time in Lexington instilled a hatred for Duke, then he may very well make a decision based on emotion, which after the Pirates beat Duke earlier this season, may cause him to do just that.
I just don't see it. To be honest, making decisions based on emotions derived from his time at Kentucky are probably the furthest thing from his mind. Heck, he might even hold a certain level of resentment towards the Cats, even though we know he loved being one. It's understandable, and I would completely forgive him. Not that he would care...in the least.
Poole stated that he just wanted to go where the coach would believe in him and his ability. Which, it doesn't take genius to figure out that he and Calipari just didn't mesh well and there most certainly was a clash.
So, I guess in his words, Poole feels as if Cal didn't believe in him, and it is the reason he left Lexington.
Fair enough.
Anyways, he could be the cog that DePaul would try to build around. How DePaul is not an absolute power every year with what they can recruit in their own backyard is beyond me.
When it comes down to it.....I am going to say that he will end up a Yellow Jacket.
When he announces, I am sure I am going to be dead wrong. I just don't see him wanting to be far from home again, and don't see him passing on the chance to play for another big program in a big basketball conference like the ACC, which is still relatively close to home, to go to the closer FIU.
Seton Hall hoops site southorangejuice.com , however, is really getting horny for some Poole. The site builds him up, and clearly states that this would be the biggest 'get' that the program under current coach Kevin Willard, will have gotten. Actually, they pretty much come right out and say he is better than anybody on their team, without even really showing much of anything on the D1 level.(Polson got more minutes for goodness sakes)
