Solid slate of action this week making it tough for me to narrow this thing down to three games. So for those who like variety here are some games to consider if you want to go in real heavy. Indiana +27.5, Iowa +4, Texas A&M +13.5, Jets +2, and Cowboys -11.5.
South Carolina vs. Arkansas -5.5. South Carolina was the more talented of the two coming into the season. As the season has played out however South Carolina has lost their drug/alcohol dependent QB(not quite sure if thats a bad thing) along with their potential All-American RB for the season. Combine the injuries with erratic play and you have a team that is a very unspectacular 7-1. Arkansas also comes into the game a rather forgetable 7-1. Arkansas has also been eratic up to this point and gave Alabama a game for 7 Minutes in the first Quarter. I like Arkansas for no other reasons than they are the healthier of the two and they are playing at home a TD edge for the Home team seems logical.
LSU vs. Alabama -4.5. Since this is being dubbed the Game Of The Century Of The Week I felt obligated to throw my two cents in. All scouting services have these two squads as the most talented groups in terms of Pro Prospects in the country. Alabama could have all 11 members of the Defense playing in the NFL one day while LSU features four members in the secondary alone. On the offensive side the Alabama offensive line could be the best in the country while Richardson could leapfrog Luck in the Heisman race with a statement game. For LSU their offense features plenty of depth at the RB and WR positions as well as the more experienced QB between the two. This game screams a three point advantage for the home team yet when the line opened up for whatever reason the Tide was a 5 point favorite. I could easily be over analzying the situation but in my mind Vegas is begging you to take the points. Give me the Tide in a 7 point win at home.
Giants vs. Patriots -8.5. Brady never loses at Home during the regular season and I believe you have to go even farther back to find a time he lost two straight starts. In come the Giants fresh off back to back subpar performances against two of the worst the NFL has to offer in the Seahawks and Dolphins. Though I am very confident the Patriots will find a way to win the 8.5 points is to much value to pass up. The Giants should be able to move the ball offensively against the Swiss Cheese inspired Patriots secondary. And their ability to apply pressure from only the front four should provide for adequate coverage in the secondary at least slowing the Patriots offense slightly. Giants keep it close for four quarters.
Recap: Giants +8.5, Alabama -4.5, Arkansas -5.5
Last Week 1-2
YTD 14-11
