The most sweeping of which, is the resignation of legendary coach Joe Paterno.
While Paterno is not implicated in the acts, he may be at fault for the way he reported the allegations and the time in which he did so when he was notified by a student manager of a incident that he had walked in on in the practice facility. Basically, Paterno is being indicated as perhaps 'covering' for Sandusky.
The New York Times is reporting that the school is formulating a plan as we speak, that will call for the dismissal of Paterno, college football's all-time wins leader.
Evidently, Paterno had the knowledge that such claims were being made about Sandusky, and he did report what he had heard. However, it seems as if it was kind of made light of with the athletic department and institution at the time. Evidence and testimony has been gathered that supports this was going on for quite some time, and it had been brought to the attention of Paterno and other school officials, as far back as 1999.
More victims are coming out with allegations in regards to sexual misconduct with minors perpetrated by Sandusky. The total number is not known, and could continue to grow, but early estimations are that at least 30 victims have come forward with there stories.
Sandusky deserves to rot in hell, and have a broom stick shoved into his ass, with spikes on the end of it for 10 years, every day.
It's sad that this is what causes Joe Pa to finally leave the sidelines.
Truly, this is not the storybook ending America envisioned for Paterno.
I have the utmost respect for Joe Paterno, and in no way shape or form believe that he had any active role in any of the allegations. I honestly don't believe that thought has entered any one's mind. However, if in fact he was covering for Sandusky all this time, well, he deserves to be forced to resign, and has brought the tarnish on his once bright and impeccable name on himself.
Say it ain't so Joe, Say it ain't so.
