No more blue in the POOLE

He was given time. Now, it's up. Stacey Poole(and his family) have decided that a change of scenery is what the young man needs. Stacey Poole is not longer a Wildcat. The news broke today that after weeks of speculation and thought, Stacey, or somebody, decided to go through with the idea of leaving Lexington for a chance to catch on elsewhere and find the court more.
Coach Cal felt that in time, Poole could have possibly had a breakthrough at Kentucky and lived up to his potential. However, you could sense that no matter what Cal said, you knew he didn't mean anytime soon. That's why Cal stressed 'time' in all of this. He was trying to get Poole to grasp it, and to finally understand what it's gonna' take to get on the floor.
But, Poole seemingly can get passed the stumbling block that has kept him off the court and on the sidelines. In the past, Cal has answered the question of 'where is Poole's playing time?' with an answer which shows that Poole has possibly been his own enemy. That answer he gives is Poole's lack of maturity.
There are so many things you can read into this. Poole's unhappiness not playing, getting a chance. Cal's concerns about Poole's determination and maturity level. Poole's dad upset that his kid isn't on the floor and being talked about on TV.
Poole had probably lost quite a bit of confidence in Lexington. Polson played more minutes than he did, and it was his own doing. He just didn't know when to quit clowning round.
So now it's a fresh start for Poole wherever he would end up. He gets to start off right, and not repeat the behavior that led to his less than stellar playing career thus far in Lexington. He gets a redo, and hopefully the youngster will take the opportunity to focus.
and, I'm not totally convinced that the lil' fender bender of the past week didn't factor into finally deciding to move on. Either on his own part, or Coach Cal's.
But, bottom line is that Stacey Poole will be leaving Lexington behind, and we wish him the best.
