With the World Series in the books and only the Winter Awards Season still left to be decided it's time to close the season on the 2011 campaign and start looking ahead to the 2012 Fantasy Baseball Season. For the Bear Creek FP Factory the grunt work begins now. The first installment of the Fantasy Spin On the Hot Stove takes a look at potential Free Agents. This list doesn't include all Free Agents to be just the ones that Fantasy Owners are likely to have their eyes on. If I have overlooked someone my apologies.

Notable Tranactions
* Cardinals pickup up Adam Wainwrights option. At a affordable price for a potnetial Ace this move was a no brainer. Sure Wainwright may not return to Cy Young Form next season but by year two he should once again be near the top of the National League and for likely half the price one would expect.
* Yankees rework Sabathia deal once again bidding against themselves. Terrible deal in terms of money committed for any other team in baseball but given the Yankees resources and dependence on Sabathia the deal was a must. Sabathia should still give the Yankees two years of elite level production at least and CJ Wilson as the Top Free Agent option gives you all the information needed to know 2012 isn't the year to build a rotation through Free Agency.
* Indians acquire Derek Lowe for Cash Considerations. It was only a matter of time before Lowe was ousted form the Braves rotation given their extreme depth of young arms. Lowe will find a home in the Indians rotation likely as a 3 or 4. Lowe's already limited Fantasy value continues to fade with the move to the AL. Likely a stream option or deep 15 team format.
