Well, that time of year is here again. The time in which all of America puts all their faith in a series of computer calculations to determine a national championship.
Not a good idea. Hollywood has shown us time and time again that computers will ultimately be our demise. Terminator, iRobot, HAL from 2001, and Battlestar Galactica.
The list goes on...but the most evil of all of these? The BCS.
In any event, the first BCS rankins have been spit out and released. Funny. Rosie from the Jetsons has more stroke in college football than Bear Bryant ever did. Way to go America.

1)LSU
2)Alabama
3)Oklahoma
4)Oklahoma State
5)Boise State
6)Wisconsin
7)Clemson
8)Stanford
9)Arkansas
10)Oregon
11)Kansas State
12)Virginia Tech
13)Nebraska
14)South Carolina
15)West Virginia
16)Michigan State
17)Texas A&M
18)Michigan
19)Houston
20)Auburn
21)Penn State
22)Georgia Tech
23)Illinois
24)Texas
25)Washington

Now, a few weeks ago, I had made mention of one of the programs that determines the BCS rankings. they had Texas at #1. It was around week 2 that this projection was made. At that time, Texas was nowhere near the top team in the country, and you could tell that they would never be better than a good portion of the nation this season. It's not a good Texas team. But, the computers said that statistically they were.
In the first official BCS collective, they are ranked 24th. Granted they are in the polls done by humans as well, but they shouldn't be this high. Human error and bias puts them in the polls. Apparently, though, the BCS computers are plugged in by a Texas Alumni, too.
They are 24th, why bitch? simply because if we are supposed to believe that the BCS 'get's it right', then they shouldn't be located anywhere on the print out.
