Spreadology 2011

After a blazing 3-0 start to the season we hit a slight road bump last week going 1-2 on the week. We are once again projecting a huge week here at the 64/60 so feel free to tap into whatever is left of your 401K and while your at it if you have small children don't think your above robbing their piggy banks. You've feed them and give them a place to call home that should come with a steeper price than a occasional hug and constant reminders of how Mom is boss.

Oklahoma vs. Florida State +3. I cannot recall the last time FSU beat a notable opponent regardless of playing at home or on the road. FSU has been the most overrated program the last 10 years, and yes even more than the Irish. I realize Oklahoma's recent track record in similar spots isn't the best yet these two meet last season. If you've watched any of the Mickey Mouse outlets recently you already know last years score. If you haven't you will be tommorow so no need to go to the well once more. The point is even if the FSU D is much improved I suspect the OU offense is as well. FSU keeps it respectable but this is a double digit win for the Sooners.

Packers vs. Panthers +9.5. Cam Newton was impressive last week vs. the bottom of the barrel Cardinals Defense. This week the Packers bring in perhpas the most athletic defense in the league along with perhaps the NFL's top defensive schemer in Dom Capers. On the offense I get a marginal QB in Rodgers who should be able to manage the game well enough for the Packers to put up a 30+ spot. Packers in a route.

Cowboys vs. 49ers +3. Last week the 49ers rolled the Seahawks according to the scoreboard but in reality take away Ginn's two TD's in 45 sec. or so then the 49ers went toe to toe with perhaps the NFL's worst. Sure the Cowboys blew it against the Jets and sure Romo could feed the opposition the rock again and again but the number and quality of the Willie's and the Joe's is too much for Alex Smith to overcome.

Other Items to Consider but not official releases: Clemson -3, Notre Dame -4.5, and Chargers +7
