Some early season BCS hatin'... But our hand was forced.

In the past, I have made it known that I do not approve of the BCS system. Yeah, I'm one of those guys. That's not to say that I don't like the Bowl games, because I actually do. I am not one of those who feel that the Bowl game pageantry is more important than a real champion, nor am I one of those that like Boise State. I hate them, to be matter of fact about it.
But, just to be clear, I don't like the BCS system perhaps more.
The BCS is a complex, and moronic, mathematical equation used to determine the best two teams in the country. Instead of actually having a playoff, we are fed that certain people's opinions, various polls, and other mathematical stats is way better to find the two best teams. Some argue that for the most part, and those are their words, the BCS will get it right. Which, by their own admission, is not always. And when the outcome is supposed to be an absolute, 'X' can't be equal to 'Eh, close enough'.
Regardless of where you sit on this, you have to at least acknowledge that, while it may work to some degree in certain years, it does not get us any closer to a legit, 100% championship game.
Once you allow yourself to let go of Corporate Bowl games and come to the realization that they have not been part of the college football fabric since the 1960's and are far gone from what they originally were, it is easier to see why the BCS is a pile of shit. Let go of the Tostitos, and embrace a trophy.
One of the systematic compilations that factors into the over-all BCS standings is the Colley Matrix. You won't find Neo, Morpheus, or a bunch cloned agents inside this matrix, but you will see confusing numbers that make little to no sense unless you wear your sunglasses that allows you to understand the matrix. Even then, you may still have to go see the black lady who is actually a computer program to get the answer.
What all this rant is leading to is this. The current Colley Matrix numbers, ranking the 25 best college football teams after 2 weeks of play. ladies and gentleman, please keep in mind this is one of the methods used to determine the BCS. Be afraid.

Now, I know it is only week 2. But this is alarming that some of the teams on here are even generating the necessary numbers to qualify for BCS contention. However, it is nice to see Kentucky in the top 25 so early in the season. Which is why the BCS polls are not publicized until the later part of the season, because they are so flawed, they have to allow themselves enough time to have gathered enough information from a library of coach's and media polls to get on track. Folks, the BCS is a broken down Atari, when everybody else is playing PS3.

But, then again, as they say: The numbers don't lie.
And, according to the numbers, even though your eyes will tell you different when you watch, right now, Texas is better than anybody country.
