Still, one dumb Summa' Bitch...

Billy Clyde. Ol' BCG... Some people are just not bright. This guy belongs to that group. But, What should we expect from a guy who is a dead ringer for Corky from Life Goes On?
Whether he was porkin' a player's mom, locking future folk-heroes in bathroom stalls, making a player walk back to Lexington, calling a guy with an EXTREMELY hot hand selfish in a game, or just being a jerk off around Lexington, Billy Gillispie made sure you knew he was there.
And, proved to be one colossal idiot.
A great basketball mind with a penchant for the sauce, when he wasn't racking up DUI's and being a prick at Merrick's, he was trying to build Kentucky's program in his image. Meaning, dude was making a mess of it.
Now, He is Texas Tech's problem. And it's turning out to be a big one.
Sports Illustrated broke the news that Gillispie had been involved in a Ponzi Scheme, and lost his ass. Reports are that he lost as much as $2 million. That's funny, the current Tech AD is Kirby Hocut, the same AD who resided over The U when all that stuff went down that has caused the current Shit-storm down in Coral Gables right now. The man who let it happen, apparently, was Hocut. The man he let do it? A feller who was running a Ponzi Scheme. Weird, huh?
That's just the beginning. Let's talk about all the defections Texas Tech has had since BCG got there, 4 months ago. And remember folks, these people were able to work with Bob Knight for years. They should be able to work with anybody.
For starters, he is on secretary number 3. He's been there 4 months. The former secretary for years, all of Knight and his son's tenures, walked out. Couldn't work with BCG.
Then, you have the head trainer. He had been there for 13 years. He worked side by side with The General. Never one complaint. He walked on Clyde also.
That brings us to 9 year Asst. Coach Chris Beard. Worked under Knight. Loved the school and the program. Loved Lubbock, Texas. His family loved it. It was home to them. Well, he was retained by BCG when he came on board. Considered a valuable asset to the program and staff. Yup, he walked too.
Now that was a description that was assumed of Beard, after a statement he released in regards to his leaving. And it would be a good way to describe the man, in his own words. Had he said it.
The school doctored that one up. He never uttered the first word of the released statement. Damage control by Tech? I think so.
Bottom line is this, Beard left because of BCG. They would get in shouting matches and very volatile altercations. Clyde has that affect on people. He's a prick and a bully.
The straw that broke the camels back so to say, was a physical confrontation that nearly turned into a pier sixer. It was a literal pull apart. Ol' Kirby Hocut had to exert himself and break it up.
No, you could just read this as a program starting fresh, a new regime coming in, changing the philosophy and the old guard not liking it and leaving.
You could, if you didn't know Gillispie. And knowing ol' Billy Clyde, we know it's him to blame and not anyone else.
The whole Ponzi situation alone could have caused him to not get the job to start with. Well, had the AD not been Hocut. Lord knows he has a soft-spot for Ponzi Schemers.
Texas Tech has concerns, and right they should.
Houston no longer has the problem.... It's all in Lubbock these days.
