
August 10th, 1981- Pete Rose, during his tenure with The Phillies, broke the NL Hit record, by surpassing Stan Musial. In a twist of baseball irony, Rose broke the mark against Musial's former team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Also on this day, doctors told Burt's parents that his knees were going to abnormally weak.
