Huge week within the 64/60 this week. Not only is the baseball season coming down to the absolute final week but the 2011 Football draft has now come and gone. First things first the 2011 Baseball Playoffs opened it's door to three more teams this week as the Walls of Jericho and B'Ville Stars lock in that long ago secured playoff spot. This leaves the Country Lads and Argumentative 9irons essentially assured of a playoff spot while LeMaestro's Militia and Tom Emanski's Deathsquad battle it out for that 6th and final spot. Keep in mind the Militia does have a 1.5 game lead in the standings so therefore their magic number is at six while the Deathsquad need 7 to clinch. I wish I could say I scripted the schedule out at the beginning of the season but truth is we just got lucky with the way things played out. All playoff contending teams played the Majesticals with the automatic 6 categories because of the failure to meet the IP limit. All contending teams avoided tbd down the stretch as I have put her team on cruise control since the start of August or so. And typically you can mark Gilberto down for some roster issues at some point but for the most part until a recent month long hiatus the MROTA's have been playing to not finish last. Please disregard their place in the standings if Karma had any justice the Riders would be flying much higher than the Majesticals. The BCFP have locked up the first round bye and the regular season championship with there big 8-4 win over the up and coming Walls Of Jericho. It's still a close battle for the other first round bye as Walls, Stars, Lads, and 9irons all have a realistic shot to constantly flip flop positioning from now until Sunday.
The 64/60 Football draft was held Sunday. For those of you who watched the video you could tell the night was one the remember. Sure the old folks (Bill excluded), whined and complained in regards to the length of the event. The senior McClung complained about lack of sleep because he's a complainer, GRC3 left early because he's a quitter (though maybe the 6 K run to close out the draft may make him not so quick to pull the trigger next time). And the Junior McClung was heartbroken because he's a tenderhearted one who had his eye on a draft worn T-Shirt signed by me however the senior wouldn't pony up the extra fundage. Brandon I apologize but greatness comes with a price. Lost in the bitching and moaning was the fact that for the first time in several years all members of the league represented and that is the biggest key of all. No since in breaking it down Round bye Round, may try to work that out next week, for the most part all teams looked pretty solid. Sure there are some that I shall keep nameless at this point that have their work cut out for them but not a single team in the league doesn't have a scar somewhere. In a post morning set down with Whitley and Hobson we stared at the board for hours in both an attempt to get the cobwebs out from the night before and to find who the team to beat is. All of us to a man came up with the previously stated conclusion. Truth be told if I could pinpoint one thins that will be the difference between a good team and a bad team look no further than the 5 Flex players. Throughout the season are you hoping No. 2 and 3 WR's have good games or are you playing established consistent members of the offense. The teams with the most of the consistent and established options will be the teams to contend with.

Bobby Parnell- BCFP. Still may give some SV chances to Izzy or some other options down the stretch but the Mets are building for the future and Parnell is much more of a part of that than Isrinhausen.
Head Scratcher Of The Week
Sergio Santos- Coalton Country Lads. Without a doubt and could be one of the worst moves of the season. Perhaps bitter about the Soto snub last week the Bopp wanted to be the Headliner this week. Sure Santos may lose a occasional SV in lefty specialist situations but he is a much safer option going forward than Betancourt who fair or not is one bad outing away from Houston Street taking over once again. As a man who has picked beside Chris in the last two drafts, I realize he plays it smart more often than not but this is one of those exceptions.
