Any update on Chris's ankle? Broken or high ankle sprain?
It looked like a softball under his skin.
Thanks for setting the Swing and Swim up. I had a blast and there is really no reason to only do that once a year.
I have some nominations for MVP and webgems are (not in any particular order)
MVP: 1) Dave Hobson (8 HR, .764 AVG, 15 RBIs) 2) Josh Coleman (off the bench, 3HR (2 in playoffs) and the sole run provider for the championship game, several outstanding plays in the field, overall championship team leader) 3) Butch Lemaster (6HR, 14 RBI, 14 runs, exceptional fielding (despite earlier reports), remarkable team motivator and a major component in demotivation of opposing team) 4) Scooter Quillen (shutout pitching performance of championship game against a team that scored 25 runs in their first 12 innings of play)
Webgems or fielding play nominations: 1) Barker's complete disregard for his own safety in braving a mailbox collision while retrieving a fly ball in foul territory for an out. 2) Butch's bean out of Chris prior to the fake ankle sprain which was clearly a pay off from Josh to get back in the game. 3) Dave's over the shoulder grab in deep center with several runners in scoring position. 4) The participants in the tournaments only 6-4-1 double play. 5) Coleman's HR robbery.
1.) Scooter hands down. Matter of fact, if anybody had paid attention, he has already been awarded the MVP. Happened the night of... 2.) Figures my 'Wilt Chamberlin' grab on Butch's line drive to right would have been left off of a 'web gem ' list. I'm used to being the lone bright spot on my teams. 3.) A SERIOUS argument can be made that McClung's boys falling apart in the last two games shifted the tide in the outcome. 3.) Special thanks to Coleman for not producing while he was on my team then having the performance of his life once he was picked up for the Chrissy Lee Injury. 4.) No home run can have serious validity unless it was with the Banana bat. Which means all of Dave's are 100% legit.(and for that matter, Coleman's I believe, mine, and I think Jesse's) Basically, if you hit a home run with a bat other than that, well, it's like 12 year old in minor league. ;) 5.) Look forward to the next game, hopefully lessons have been learned about just enjoying Wiffle Ball for what it is, not arguing calls and rulings in a Wiffle ball game in front of women and children, and attempting to phone in a stacked team does not guarantee victory.
I hit 2 with the yellow bat! One was the first game when Coleman told us we could not use it the next game, so we went ahead and started using it in the 5th, then I hit a second one the next game. So mine too were "legit".
No reason for quotation marks around the word legit. I really meant legit when I typed the word legit. If you hit two with the banana stick, congrats, it counts as legit. Pardon me for excluding your name from my comment, didn't mean to ruin any street cred you were building.

Let's tally the votes and send out some awards.
Thanks again; so much fun.
Jesse
Also, top runner awards should go to Matthew and Brandon McClung who outperformed all expectations.
