Despite the beatdown handed to me by the B'Ville Stars I love the short week post All-Star format. I like how one huge day will likely win the week. In past seasons many struggling teams have had that big day and have earned double digit wins catapoulting them back into playoff contention. This year look no further than the Hendo Colonels whose 9-3 was his third consecutive W bringing the once down and out club within 6 games of a playoff spot. Much the same for Walls Of Jericho who is the hottest team in the league with 3 straight 10-2 W's moving them from 9th in the standings to 5th and improving there games back by nearly half over the same period. The decisive contest during the week wasn't suprising given the short period. 5 of the 6 games were decided by five or more catagories. What was suprising is how one sided these matchups were. Stars weren't dominate but the Factory still must have been on a shutdown. Emanski was formidable but the Canseco's fit a Week's worth in four days. Same script for the 9irons over the Vondies. The Walls performed well but the ineptitude of the Dogs was epic. The Colonels didn't play particullarly well last week but much like the Komodo Dogs the Majesticals ineffectiveness was a accopmlishment in itself. The lone actual contest of the week featured tbd against the Militia with neither team having impressive weeks. Thanks to the short week and recent hot streaks by several teams on the outside of the playoff hunt a month ago the 2011 season appears to be anything but decided. Sure the Stars and BCFP seem assured of a playoff spot but only 17 games seperate the 3rd spot to the 10th and tbd who currently is 10th is only a mere 10 games from a playoff spot. It will be interesting to see if any deals change the 64/60 landscape between now and the Trade Deadline which is July 31st and who amongst the contenders will have the focus and dedication to ride out the dog days of summer with Clear Eyes and Full Hearts on playoff glory.

Game Recaps
Stars 10 vs. BCFP 1. No need to breakdown one minor setback. The Factory is still great while the Stars are a good team lacking the proper ownership to obtain a Fantasy Championship.
Canseco's 10 vs. Emanski 1. Despite his account being hacked and his weekend spent 150 miles away from the comforts of Rice Lane and alone, he still had his hair gel, a video game controller, and a dominant performance by a group of players who didn't hit rubber balls at age 12. Life is good.
9irons 8 vs. Vondies 3. The man who turns his back on the 64/60 is rewarded with a 4 day production of stats fit for a week. Proof that Karma doesn't always find the proper recipients.
Walls 10 vs. Dog 2. Todd opens the door for Barker and Bowe to return to the 64/60. They pay their respects to the Dogs in a way that makes Michael Vick look good.
Colonels 9 vs. Majesticals 3. Results such as these could force the Colonels to pay a little bit more attention then they have come accustomed to in August. For the Majesticals even unjustified roster management can guide them to a Win.
tbd 6 vs. Militia 5. The Militia hasn't stopped pushing buttons all season but he has still yet to find that perfect mix. With the end of July approaching and the trade deadline near the Militia's season is becoming cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms and it is making Ev rather uncomfortable. Can Ev weather the storm or will he succomb to the elements. Equipped with a life jacket Lemaster will have the final say.

Pickup Of The Week
BCFP pickup Cory Luebke for Mike Trout. Given Bourjos DL stint dropping Trout could be a risky move but as of this point he has yet to hit which will certainly lead to a return to the Minors when Bourjos returns. It's not often you can pick up a Top 130overall player with a WHIP below 1.00 and a K per 9 north of 9 off the Waiver Wire at this point in the season. Since being placed in the rotation Luebke has been dominate posting a ERA of 1.50 with a K/BB rate just over 6:1 and as long as the K/BB remains anything close to this the A level production will continue.
Head Scratcher Of The Week
Vondies pickup Dontrelle Willis and drop Rick Porcello. The issue isn't with dropping Porcello this is certainly understanding given his C level production but to use a roster spot on Dontrelle Willis makes little sense. His first start of the season is as good as it is going to get yet he still failed to make it through five giving up 5 hits and 2 runs despite having good control. Perhaps Willis has a place in a 12 Team NL-Only but certainly not a 12 Team mixed.
Trade Evaluation
BCFP send Matt Holliday and Zach Cozart for Dustin Pedroia. I often speak of roster depth as a prerequisite to Head to Head success. If so there isn't many other teams in this league more in need of depth than the Vondies. Holliday and Cozart are certainly an upgrade in roster depth and it is arguable that Holliday is the best player in the deal. As for the Factory they have had two black marks on the roster all season 2B and CI with Ryan Raburn and Omar Infante given most of the AB's in these positions. A healthy Pedroia will solve one of these issues with a Top 5 overall talent at the Keystone. A classic win win for both teams the way a trade should be.

Burt, the term is 'Vagabonds' not 'baggabons'...You're just making shit up at this point.
"For the Majesticals even unjustified roster management can guide them to a Win."
I'm assuming you meant 'can't' but I assure you that the roster management is justified.

I'm looking forward to the swing and swim.
Thanks for promoting the golf tournament; will be postponed to due to lack of proper management by the 6460 headquarters.
