I would apologize once again for my tardiness but as it's only McClung who clicks refresh repeatedley on his computer on Wednesday morning waiting for the update he should be used to it by now. In 64/60 related news it was another exciting 64/60 Cornhole circuit event this past weekend. Once again it was a rather sparse crowd here at the 64/60 headquarters as only the Coleman 5, Gilberto, Ev, and their Phoebe Cates were in attendance. McClung once again made up fifty different reasons why not to come even with the pressure of his own son, Brandon, who just wants to spend some time with his idol(two thumbs pointing at Burt). GRC3 was out on the prowl burning the midnight oil. Bopp took his bi-monthly trip to Frankfort to visit the old lady and catchup on any missed episode of any MTV program the last 15 years. (SIDEBAR: Over/Under Chris's marriage proposal 6 months, for the record my money is on the under.) Finally the name that is as close to a "Mark it Down" as they come, James Hardy, was also out of town doing the In-Law thing which leads me to the next sidebar. (SIDEBAR: Odds of 64/60 members being first to propose: Bopp 1:1, James 1.5:1, GRC3 1:2, Todd 7:1) The deadly duo on the evening was Gilberto and Sarah who posted about a 3-1 record on the evening and won two in a row to close out the night. Once again another 64/60 gathering went without a trade being negotiated but I have a feeling this trend will change in the very near future. Speaking of the future please check the blog on Friday sometime after 8AM as the 64/60 will release a special announcement regarding a upcoming 64/60 sanctioned event that is sure to create a buzz that will be felt all along the 64/60 corridor.
BCFP 8 vs. Ragin Canseco's 4. At what point does a one-sided rivalry lose it's status as a rivalry? I'm not sure what the answer is but what I do know is the Factory has the Bopp's number at this point and it drives the gelled one crazy. After Week 1's loss lead to self inflicted wounds I would have hated to be a fly on the wall in the Lee household Sunday Night. Bopp as a friend and your mentor keep your head up buddy it's merely one game.
9irons 8 vs. Walls Of Jericho 4. Last week I laid a verbal smackdown of GRC3 for his decision to shed the 9irons label in favor of the Black Sheep. My stance on the name has not changed and I will continue to address GRC3's squad as the 9iorns but after more thought I have decide the Walls Of Jericho moniker also needs to go. Though I no longer watch the sport, wrestling has made me who I am today so to knock the wrestling influence would be foolish. My issues is the nod to uber douche Chris Jericho. I mean come on you have 30 years of Wrestling greatness to choose from and you send a shout out to Jericho. No Fireballin Freebirds, The Varsity Club, Midnight Express, 25 Horsemen, Mega Powers, Hogan's Hero's or thousands of other options which would honor true wrestling greatness. In GRC3's defense it took only one bad decision for the move to be made. In Walls case two of you guys signed off on a finishing move from a rope opera star, using that term loosley with no relationship to baseball. I will speak to each of you individual before I take matters into my own hands.
Majesticals 8 vs. Tom Emanski's Deathsquad 4. Don't look now fellas but watch out for the 64/60 Bad Guy, William Jesse Ward, and those pesky Majesticals who are now winners of 3 straight. Although Ward has still yet to master the art of roster management, and by mastering I mean simply putting in a active lineup, he has won these contest by solid across the board play rather than those ugly wins. About 3 Weeks ago I wrote the Majesticals off now they are a mere 7.5 games from a playoff spot. Should Ward decide to tinker with a lineup upon occasion he could very well find himself playing meaningful baseball come August.
Barboursville Stars 10 vs. LeMaestro's Militia 2. The Stars want that top spot and week after week they seem to catch a game in the standings. This wasn't a typical Stars week as they benefitted more from a challenged Militia offense than a dominating performance of their own as life without Pujols began. The loss forced Butch into the war room for soul searching and team evaluation which resulted in another roster shakeup for Butchie and no doubt plenty of trade request in league owners inbox.
Komodo Dog 6 vs. tbd 5. The up and down season for the Dog's continues as they have now won three in a row and find themselves in the Top 5 in the standings. The W makes the Dog's the lone 64/60 team to have two three game winning streaks along with a three game losing streak. I don't know exactly what it means but if I was to take a guess I'm sure big Todd would like to add a consistent bat or arm via trade or free agency at some point to help avoid another three game setback at some point. For tbd the season is all but over, though the standings don't suggest this the heart and head does. What used to be a Sunday setdown with yours truly discussing potential adds and roster changes has now become a "I would do this" ..."then do it." conversation that last about as long as I do these days.
Los Vonderheides 9 vs. Hendo Colonels 3. I was hoping last weeks post regarding the Colonels time constraints would serve as bulletin board material to revive what has become a lost season it didn't work. The Colonels did manage to break the Vondies 8 game losing streak which was heartbreaking if your one of those types who love chaos like I do. The Vondies had to much talent to lose every game even without adjusting the roster, as his huge week both at the plate and on the rubber indicates, still I was hoping this breakout week would last until a David vs. Goliath type matchup in August where Gilberto could knock a team out of the playoffs.

Head Scratcher Of The Week
Walls Of Jericho drop Luke Scott for Jemile Weeks. This isn't a draw dropper but in a week with less than a dozen moves you have to pick something. Weeks has been red hot and given his MI eligibility is a player he should be owned at this point I suppose. Scott has been dreadful this year so he would make a logical choice to drop. The problem I have is the lack of faith I have in Weeks combined with the proven track record of Scott. Scott has been a 20+ HR guy and solid RBI producers since coming over from Houston so that should buy him a roster spot over a injured Jed Lowrie who should have been dropped for Weeks.
Pick Up Of The Week
Walls of Jericho drop Phil Humber for Brandon Beachy. This isn't a type of move that will produce huge gains but several moves like this can turn a down and out team like Jericho into a contender. Statistically Humber has been better this year than Beachy but I prefer Beachy's upside along with guaranteed roster spot over Humber who could be bumped once all of the White Sox starters manage to get healthy. Throw in the added K potential along with pitching in pitcher freindly Turner and to NL lineups Beachy will be the better option going forward.
Trade Evaluation
LeMaestro's Milita send Dan Haren and Carl Crawford to Majesticals for Josh Hamilton and Shane Victorino. Despite a terrible start and a hands off approach to team management, with 3 straight W's, the Majesticals are right back in this thing. Pitching has been terrible for the Majesticals so Haren should provide a steady and reliable option that has been void so far. Crawfords injury doesn't appear to be severe so assuming good health and a quick return he softens the lose of offense a bit. The Milita get the best player in the deal in Hamilton yet his injury issues provide the Militia with the biggest risk factor in the deal which is quite a accomplishment considering one player is on the DL at the moment. Victorino provides the Militia with speed and likely makes this deal improve the offense across the board which is a rarity when making a deal. A win win for both squads but I prefer the offensive haul the Militia pulled in with offense being down across baseball once again.
