I don't want to do this. But there is something to be said for self-inflicted punishment.
We saunter down to North Carolina. Doron Lamb shows what he is capable of. I spent my usual game day of posting witty and clever facebook status updates as it pertained to the situation like I do. I was prepared to get on here and post about how Harrison Barnes is the most over-rated player to come down the pike since Jackson Julson. Unfortunately, The Big Brown Muppet John Henson got to Terrence Jones, and we couldn't shake it. We fell to the Sticky-footed Goats,75-73. It hurt me. More so than this nasty cold and sinus issue I have right now. Yeah, it's the one where if you breath in through your nose it stings. Sucks.
And Louisville is 5-0. Unranked, but still undefeated. Tennessee is undefeated. They lost in preseason to a Division II squad. None of which really matters, but it just makes the day worse. Did I mention yet, that Duke is a juggernaut this season? All this is a lot to weigh on a Cat. Unfortunately, it's out under-sized, thin numbered reality. And some even poised the notion that maybe today's loss was firmly on the shoulders of Coach Cal. Then I have to consider what kind of scholarship mess are we going to be in when next season hits and we have about 39 promised scholarships, because none of these boys look to be going the one and done route. See ya little blonde kid on the end of the bench.
Oh yeah, Tubby beat UNC. I hope that is not a sign of some sort, although I don't put much stock into tarot card-like voodoo.
But..... WVU did not get the BCS bid for the Big Least. UConn, it what has to be some sort of mind-altering, unequivocal level of program success considering just 10 years ago, they were a 1AA program. Let's not go that far. Marshall blew up on the National Scene in their first year in the DIVISION, now FBS. Yeah, that's right, I said Marshall.
Trying to find things to pretty the picture that is December 4th. Morehead. I could have used some today, but the school won a big OVC game today against conference kingpin and fellow Kentucky school, Murray State. Morehead is a Tournament team.
Any event, I am going to be in attendance at the Indiana game on the 11th. With a can of Cope and a half tank of gas. In the snow. Hopefully, we can devour the rival that produced Coleman's boyfriend.
In all seriousness, we have lost 2 games. 2 games. Which, although one was to UNC, I think is a great thing. It is good for this team. It is going to translate to wins in March. Yup, that's my math, a loss in December will translate to a win in March. When you think about it, that math is much more tangible than BCS match.
However, an event that took place much later in the evening, at a local sports bar, conveniently located minutes away from my house, and slightly longer away form stately Wayne Manor, we have this....
2 chicks come walking in, looking for that sucker, that lonely sucker, to pay their bar tab. Night out on a schmuck. Tried and true method of evening entertainment. I have seen a thousand times. Target spotted. Fu-manchu. Big Belt Buckle. sleeveless denim jacket. Winner. The fact that he was eating soup beans and french fries made it even better. But, don't count out the coyness of the Canadian tuxedo clad simpleton. He was maneuvering his own con. He skipped the bill, after a very dramatic and Carl Lewis 'dash' after those 'harlots' that did this. Hey, the man had somebody try that on him before, just before he turned 18 years old. In High Point, North Carolina. Got him 13 screws and staples in his head that night, because he fought his way out of there. Never would have guessed he had a history of cranial injury solely based on his mental acumen.
It salvaged my night.
Go Cats.
