Where we're going there are no roads...

Rev up the Flux Capacitor, Get Doc Brown away from the Libyans, and watch out for punks on Hoover boards, because with the period not even yet put on the end of the current college football season, Ol' Idge is going to take a stab at forecasting the START of NEXT season. Regardless of how right or wrong I'll end up being, my chances of success are better than the weather team at WSAZ.

First off, One goes into this with the assumptions of their bowl picks being correct. Big margin for error there. Secondly, I am going to go into this thinking that Newton is leaving one sure payday behind for another. I have scoured over depth charts and probabilities and got a pretty good idea of who is staying and who is going. The big loses, the returners and who I think will be primed for big seasons next year. I try not to look too much at recruiting classes, but sometimes you just can't help it, and I try to not anticipate coaching hires... So, 6460, I give you the EXTREMELY PRE-PRE SEASON FBS TOP 25.

1. Oregon - The Ducks, who I don't think will win the BCS Title, and have the biggest part of their flock coming back to Nikeland. Losing some defense, which I didn't know they played.
2.TCU- That's right, the new team that the BCS shits on, one year before going east, they get #2. So what if they are losing their QB and key offensive components? The D stays, and it was the strong suit of this team. No doubt, they are going to be Horny for respect, again.
3. Ohio State- I hate em'. But, Maybe next season Pyror will have that unbelievable season Columbus and the sweater vested one have been waiting for. Their success depends really on if Pyror and a few others return to the land of Value City, and if they can re-build an O-Line.
4. Oklahoma- This is basically due to Landry Jones. Mix in the fact that they keep a lot of both sides of the ball for next season, and the youth movement that got valuable playing time this season as Freshman. Boomer.
5. South Carolina - Why? Well, because the ol' Ball Coach finally got that SEC East away from Gainesville monkey of his back. He got his manhood, Mr. Coach Spurrier, you got your manhood. And, they are another team that brings a lot back, and Marcus Lattimore. Cock-a-doodle-do.
6. LSU- Maybe losing the least out of all the BCS powerhouses. Granted, the Mad Scientist's Tigers had some ups and downs this season, but LSU should be able to make some early season noise in 2011.
7. Auburn- Yup, this is the portion of the top 10 flooded with SEC teams. So what if Cam decides not to leave? well, they are #1, but that is not going to happen. But, for a team that is run heavy, they are in great shape with Dyer and McCalebb returning. War Eagle still going to fly high, and will still be the best team in Alabama.
8. Nebraska- Amukamara is gone, but QB Martinez shined as a freshman in the Big 12. I find it hard to fathom that not factoring into future Cornhusker success. There was nothing about his season that said true-freshman, just like there will be no sophomore slump for him either.
9. Michigan State- The team that nobody really seem to notice this season. While nobody was watching, they dominated Big 10 play, only losing 1 game to Iowa, who was better than their record suggests. They are going to return virtually everyone they need. Sometimes, being anonymous is a great thing, but they won't be sneaking up on anyone nest season.
10. Oklahoma State - Don't know if they can Cowboy up again next season, but I don't think it's time to ride off into the sunset either for the Cowboys. If things go like I think they will, Freshman back Joseph(so proper) Randle should explode onto the national scene as a sophomore in 2011.
11. Missouri- I am gonna go ahead and put another BIG 12 team in the upper reaches of the 25. Why? well, because the BIG 12 is going to be very tough next season, and this Tiger team returns most of the guys who deserve ass-slaps for getting where they were this season.
12. Texas A&M- Jebus, another Big 12 team? Yup. No, I have not abandoned this SEC, but this is pre-season projections, and we all know that teams are going to be ranked higher and lower than should be and it will become evident as the season progresses. Tannehill will be back for the Aggies, and if they keep some of their stud Juniors, well, the SEC-flirted with 'Aggs could find themselves kings of the Big 12.
13. Arkansas - Losing a lot in Fayetteville, not gonna' lie, but they have really built a strong program, and are one of the stronger current teams in the SEC. They are on that level where they can be a national contender year in and out despite loses. Yup, I said it. Pig Sooooooooey.
14. Florida State - Now, I know I said that I wasn't going to put too much emphasis on recruiting, but the ACC power is a Florida school, and well, they recruit as good as any program in the country. How could they not being in that hotbed? It may be a lil' high, and I am not sure they are the best ACC team coming into 2011, but it is what it is.
15. Virginia Tech - The real ACC kingpin. I have a habit of lumping teams from the same conference in together. But, it makes sense. They aren't putting the caps and gowns on a lot of players, so they are not going to rebuild too much. However, even though I anointed them the best of the ACC, that title will not stick in 2011.
16. Wisconsin- They are probably going to have a good showing on Draft Day, but they should return a good running game, as most suspect that Clay will return due to the fact that he kind of underwhelmed and has some things left to prove.
17. Alabama- The tide might not be rolling as high as they have been, but I don't think it is any reason to count them out of the picture. No more Julio down by the schoolyard is a big blow. Mix that in with losing McElroy and Ingram, most other programs would be balled up in the fetal position. Not the Tide. It will take a bit, but the Tide will roll again.
18. Stanford- The color, not the bird. Now, some find the Pac 10 downright scary. Not me. I don't buy that garbage. And if anything, the Pac 10 was over-ranked all season, but Stanford was good, just not as good as led to believe. John Elway U is losing their Luck, but more significant may be the fact they could lose their coach. If Harbaugh leaves, good LUCK staying in the top 25.
19. West By Gawd Virginia- The 'Eers are on the rise. If not for the a ridiculous system, the Couch Burners would be in a BCS bowl this season. With a Geno Smith coming back and familiar backsides on his O-Line, winning the Big East is almost a certainty. However, they are one of several teams who are rumored to be in the head coach market.
20. Boise State- Even though I hate the BCS, I do not like Boise State at all. The team that carried the anti-BCS flag for so long is about to see their run in the top tier fall. They are losing Kellen Moore. They are graduating key players. Their won't be enough left to maintain the level of success they have had. Maybe I am being to harsh on the Broncs. Maybe I am just tired of the Nausea inducing blue turf. Should they be hire? probably. Are they? No.
21. Utah - The Injuns from the land of Mormons. in Utah, it's either Shamans or Spaceship Jesus'. They are returning their QB for one. Another reason, is no matter what seems to happen, or what the country thinks of the Mountain West, Utah always manages be a Top 25 team, by hook or by crook. No use in delaying the inevitable.
22. UCF - Is it weird to reward a team who over-powers Conference USA? yes it is, but I am doing it anyways. The fact that they have a Freshman QB should only cement the fact that CUSA is going to be theirs again. That means nothing, of course.
23. Mississippi State- The Cowbells are going to start off making noise early. Now, graduation is going to hit the Bulldogs hard, but if a few players can break out next season, State should be able to be at the top of the SEC West heap. They have proven they can compete in God's conference. That's good enough for me.
24. UConn- Well, the Huskies have achieved some D1 success in a relatively short time, albeit by a point system. They aren't losing a heck of a whole lot, so they are going to be rewarded with a spot in the 25 based on what they accomplished this year. But, if they get embarrassed in the Bowl Game against Oklahoma, and if they lose Todman to the draft, well, erase UConn.
25. This is going to be another give it to em' spot, like 22-24 has been. You can realistically put any number of teams into these spots and it won't matter because if they win great, if they lose, well there are about 8 or 9 teams just like them who could have as easily been put in that spot. With that being said, the #25 team is... Northern Illinois. No reason, other than the fact they won the MAC, and it would just be a nice nod to another non-BCS school to get a good start on the season. Like I said, you could fill this space with any number of teams. most notable, The U, new coach and all, and Florida, also new coach and all. So there ya go MAC, for one day you beat our an ACC and SEC school.

Now, sit back, and watch all this get totally blown to hell when the Bowl Season plays out, and more wrenches are thrown into the gears.
