If you could take away the Bowl Season, the Factory has been producing winner after winner in the NFL over the last month. Unfortunately when you call Shakey down at the Corner Room you can't exactly get your money back. So unless you have been selective with my picks each week you are likely near the .500 mark. Not exactly where you want to be at this stage but I suppose it is better than Re-Mortgaging in your home or just Defaulting on the loan altogether.
Bowl Games
Winners: Clemson -4, Notre Dame +3, Georgia -7, South Carolina -3, Northwestern +9.5, Penn State +7, Alabama -10.5, Michigan +6, Wisconsin +3, Oklahoma -17, Stanford -3, Ohio State -3, MTSU +2.
Overview: Looking forward to the Irish facing the Canes. Kelly had the Irish playing very well over the last month while the Canes are in the midst of a regime change. Wisconsin as dogs against TCU is my second best play of the Bowl Season (Boise State). I am not a TCU doubter I just think Wisconsin could be the best team in the country and the rare Rose Bowl appearance should eliminate a letdown. If anyone can be a three score favorite and lose it would be the Sooners and outside of Oklahoma they have not played well this season. From a talent standpoint they are hard to pass up. Like Michigan to win outright. The Stanford vs. Va. Tech game will be a good measuring stick for the Oregon vs. Auburn contest. Va. Tech has more overall talent but with Luck the Cardinal have the best player at the most important position. Ohio State ends their BCS struggles against the SEC.
NFL
Bengals vs. Ravens -9.5. Ravens are still looking for a Division Crown and a first round bye so no laydown in this one. The Bengals played well last week but a road contest to finish out a terrible season likely won't rally the troops even if it is a division opponent.
Steelers vs. Browns +5.5. Follows the same script as the above contest however unlike the Bengals the Browns are playing spoiler at HOME. Home field advantage will make all the differences in this one as well as the possible absence of The Hair. Browns not only cover but Hillis and McCoy make enough plays to earn the upset.
Raiders vs. Chiefs +3.5. The first contest was a classic with the Raiders coming out on top at home. This time around the Raiders must travel to Arrowhead however they will likely be playing the 2nd Unit as the Chiefs will have nothing to play for. Game two has the same outcome without the drama.
Chargers vs. Broncos +3.5. The I hate Tim Tebow campaign continues, this time Timmy must face a NFL caliber defense. Expect a 12/38 passing day with a INT hat trick and a shutout when it comes to TD's.
Bears vs. Packers -10. I'm going to go out on a limb and circle the Falcons a winner over the Panthers. This outcome makes the Bears view this game as a Week 17 Exhibition game while the Packers season could very well depend on a win. I stated three weeks ago that the Packers were the best team in the NFC, Sunday's outcome won't prove this but a deep playoff run could.
Rams vs. Seahawks +3. One of these squads will be a sacrificial lamb in the first round of the playoffs but since this is the biggest game of the weekend I feel it is my duty to give you a winner. The Rams are the better team but since this is the NFC West I feel it is only appropriate that the lesser of the two lesser contenders make the playoffs. Seahawks are the pick.
NFL Recap: Ravens -9.5, Browns +5.5, Raiders +3.5, Chargers -3.5, Packers -10, Seahawks +3.
