*watching UK lose to North Carolina was rough. I hate North Carolina fans more then any other fans in college basketball. They are fair weather, do not know fundimental rules of basketball, and cheer for someone like tyler hansborough.
Having said that, losing in December against a somewhat decent opponent on the road isnt the end of the world. It did expose UK lack of an interior (like we didn't already know) and Brandon Knight has struggled a little in the early stages of the season. I think we will be ok, but I have kicked around the idea of moving Lamb to the point, and have Knight play off of him. Knight would score 20 some a game playing the off guard. Just a thought. Not like Lamb has lit it up playing the 2, and when Lamb has looked his best, he was playing the point. Free Enos.
*Duke continues to roll. The acc looks to be all but over with Duke excelling and North Carolina and V Tech playing inconsistent, mediocre basketball. I dont see anyone beating them at Camron. Maybe a loss on the road could be coming thier way (Hopefully at North Carolina, now that UK lost there), but I think Duke flirts with a perfect record this season. (Fuck.)
*Maybe having Harrison Barnes on the preseason all american team was premature, but including Terrence Jones and Jarred sullinger at this point, isnt. Jones is a stat stuffer that will be the leading offensive force for the wildcats this year, and sullinger will lead the Buckeyes into the vaunted Big Ten regular season looking for a conference title. Both could average a double double this season.
*Looking at the teams at the top of the standings, I see a couple of pretenders with pretty records, but games against no one thus far. I think Kansas is a good, not great team. I think they are really about a 12 or 13 ranking, but if they keep on winning then they will flirt with the top 3 all season long. Duke and Ohio state are for real. I think Pitt and 'Cuse are good teams that have yet to be challenged. That will not take long as soon as the conference season starts. The Big East has some heavyweights in its ranks (UConn, Georgetown).
*Look out for Baylor and K state in the Big 12. Baylor has nba ready talent and K state is flying under the radar after the loss to Duke in Kansas City. I think K state plays the underdog better. They like being the hungry team that is chasing, not the high ranked team with a target on thier backs. (Kansas).
